Tina has quickly risen through the ranks as the strictest, most efficient school hall monitor and is now up for a promotion to become Hall Manatee, the highest hall monitor position. Mr. Frond calls Tina and Rudy, who's a lower ranking hall monitor, to Coach Blevin's office where Zeke was caught breaking into the office to steal the school's mascot costume, claiming that he needs it to entertain his grandmother before she goes into surgery. Mr. Frond suspends Zeke and asks Tina to escort him to the principal's office. Zeke however, escapes while taking a bathroom break. When Mr. Frond confronts Tina, she lies, which Rudy notices, causing him to lose his faith in her and work against her in order to bring her deception to light. In order to find Zeke, Tina asks Gene and Louise for help, giving them permanent hall passes in exchange. While Tina ultimately finds Zeke, Rudy exposes her lie to Mr. Frond, who dismisses her as a result. After overhearing a phone call that reveals that Zeke was telling the truth, Tina steals the mascot costume and, with Gene and Louise's help, breaks him out of the principal's office. Mr. Frond scolds her for believing Zeke's story, but Tina stands firm in her belief in Zach, stating that people are complicated and even liars can tell the truth. To prove her wrong, Mr. Frond, along with Tina, Rudy, Gene and Louise head to the nursing home where Zeke's grandmother lives. It is Mr. Frond who is proven wrong when Zeke runs out in the mascot costume, true to his word.
