Detectives Danny and Baez investigate when Diego, a fourth grade teacher is murdered in his own apartment. He lived in a luxury high rise but he lived on the low income side behind what the tenanats dubbed the "poor door." They find a half a kilo of cocaine in Diego's closer but nothing else in his life points to drug dealing or drug use. He was dating Rada, the rich girl upstairs whose father, Ivan was former KGB. Security footage shows ivan nodding to a man who was a former KGB enforcer. When Rada sees the footage she realizes that her father must have ordered a hit on her boyfriend. She goes to Diego's apartment and commits suicide, devastating her father.

Jamie and Eddie end up playing good cop / worse cop in order to get a suspect involved in shooting a police officer to give up his partner. He's hesitant to do so even as he lays dying from his own injuries in a hospital bed.

Elsewhere, Lt. Gormley's former partner is under suspicion when the press realizes he owns his own Ferrari.
