This whole thing is dead to me anyhow. It died with Richard.

Emily

Rory: But do you think it was the right decision, that she raised me alone?
Christopher: I think it was exactly what was supposed to happen, and I think she would back me up on that.

Rory: Mom?
Lorelai: Yeah?
Rory: I'm pregnant.

I went to the mall. And I was sitting in the food court, wishing I had some money to buy a pretzel because I was starving. And I looked up and there was Dad standing in front of me at the mall. He never came to the mall. That day he went to the mall and he was furious. 'Why aren't you in school?' he asked, 'Tell me right now Lorelai, why aren't you in school,' and I tried to think of something, some lie that would make sense. But I couldn't. All I could think was that yesterday I had a boyfriend who loved me and today I didn't and I started to cry. I just sat there like an idiot bawling. And finally after what seemed like forever I managed to control myself for a little bit I calmed down and I waited. I waited for him to yell at me to punish me to ground me forever, to tell me how disappointed her was in me. And nothing came. And I finally got up enough courage to look up at him and he was standing there with a pretzel.

Lorelai

Dean: What are you gonna you say?
Rory: That you were the greatest boyfriend alive. That you were, um, generous and protective and kind and strong. That as much as I wish we'd met when I was older and more mature, I know that if I hadn't have had you with me when I did, I wouldn't be the person I am today. That you taught me what safe feels like.
Dean: Okay.

I'm not dismissing Richard by spending time with Jack. I'm not just moving on.

Emily

It's never or now.

Violet

Lorelai: I'm going away.
Luke: You're going away?
Lorelai: And I might be gone for a while.

Jess: You should write about you and your mom.
Rory: What?
Jess: It's a cool story. It's got a point of view. It's something only you can write.

Good news! We found our editor, and the Gazette is saved!

Taylor

Rory: I'd have to stay in a hotel?
Logan: Well...
Rory: She's in town?
Logan: Yes.
Rory: For how long? (silence) She's moved in?
Logan: Yes.

Oh, hey! There's my dad!

Gilmore Girls Quotes

Emily: (about Luke) And how did he know that the bird was missing? What, was he strolling by your house and he heard your plaintive cries for help?
Lorelai: Mom.
Emily: Or the helpless cheep of a chick in trouble?
Lorelai: I called him, Mom. OK? I called him and asked him to come over and help me look for the bird. OK?
Emily: It seems like this man is always around when you're in trouble.
Lorelai: He's a good friend.
Emily: Oh, please.
Lorelai: Do we have to discuss this?
Emily: Lorelai, I'm getting a little tired of being lied to.
Lorelai: Apparently we do.
Emily: This man was at Rory's birthday party, he came to the hospital with you, he's the male lead in every story you tell, you go to the diner every single day. I've seen the way he looks at you, the way you look at him. I'm not a fool.
Lorelai: Mom, please.
Emily: Why do you treat me like I don't have a clue in the world as to what is going on in your life? Now I'm asking you, as a favor, if you have any respect for me at all as your mother, just tell me. Do you have feelings for this man?
Lorelai: I don't know. Maybe I do. I haven't given it much thought. Maybe I do.
Emily: Thank you. I'm glad you were finally honest with me. Now we can discuss what on earth you could possibly be thinking. Don't forget the ice.

Sherry: I can't just stop everything because...
Lorelai: You're having a baby. Admitting it is the first step.
