I miss the edgy Dean from purgatory. Reflexes fast and focused. Dean's betrayal by Sam is still store for him. He's added it up over the years. Not on a deadbeat Dad, but a barely there for you brother. I still can't understand Sam not looking for him. Amazing how he just ditched it all. Until Sam gets a good answer, then it can't be resolved. I think the season has some ups and downs. All of them have a few bad episodes. Par for course, but I'm still entertained by the boys. Love Benny. Hope he stays good. Cas I always love. But Naomi (Amanda Tapping) I HATE!! The actress break into the series with reality. Stick with no name actors and build upon them. And Cas, he's relaying info to heaven? Why not a silent angel? Total Far Off...
I like some parks and don't like others. I love Dean's new persona and unlike others I like the dynamics between the brothers. There's still love but like all relationships it's different with the absence jsut like after Sam got back from Hell. There's mistrust and baggage. Sam is jealous of Dean's relationship with Benny that's obvious in Citizen Fang and Dean is sure all he wants to do is hunt with his brother, even though he feels betrayed by Sam giving up on him and hunting. I love Benny and hope to see more. I don't think there anything left to say about Purgatory. I hope the angel stuff does get to bogged down they have a tendency to do that. The Trans are okay and Crowley is a good villian. Now the hates: Amelia, Amelia, Amelia. Also I hate is that Dean was a great hunter in puragtory but since he's been back he's needed help too much, from Sam in the first episode, from Cas in 'A little slice of Kevin' and from Benny in 'Citizen Fang'. What's happen to Super Dean and why? I hate the whole shut the gates of Hell unless its a rouse, if they succeed the show is over and that's not a good ending away.
ukchris - there is no more Purgatory. It is finished. Both Singer and Carver have said so. But never fear, there'll be more soap! Yay! More boring, bitchy, bland, whiny Amelia! She and SAm have such chemistry (SARCASM HERE.) Gawd, if this show doesn't improve, that's it for me. This is the worst season ever. What has Carver done with Sam and Dean? They're unrecognizable I want them back!
This show had such potential, but from S6 onwards it has deteriorated. The writers think that fans don't like female characters - which is untrue. Some females are miscast, such as Lisa and Amelia. These storylines were forced, and the women "bitchy". Dean moved in with Lisa, who he barely knew, rather than getting Sam out of the cage. Sam's soulessless was tedious (Cas should have sold the soul to Crowley which should have been the punchline), and we hardly saw the Leviathan. And what happened to Balthazar's weapons? S8 is most disappointing. Samandriel and Benny are good, but stop the soapie stuff.
What's with the lost love between the brothers??. I don't like that- the whole premise of the show is based on them looking out & caring for each other. Get back to the basics. Also, Sam needs an urgent haircut, bobby needs to come back & Benny & Dean should be bffs.
Loving season gr8!
Sam and the girl, BORING!!! Love Benny!!!! Please go back to Dean, Sam, the Impala, and oh yeah the monsters!!
Worst season so far. Sam was totally unconcerned that Dean was in purgatory, and seemed uninterested when he was back. Also, nothing happened in purgatory besides Dean, Sam and Benny stomping around. What was the point of this? Amelia is painful and boring to watch. There is no chemistry between Sam and Amelia, and the script is awful. I don't care about the "sausages and spaghetti," and the "toilet paper on her shoe". Why is her father even a character? Stop this rubbish, and give us a show about the brothers and monsters. No more tiger moms either, and no more teenage prophets.
I agree that Bitten was completely blah, as is Amelia. I also agree that they need to stop writing them as sniping at each other (more Dean than Sam). They promised us season 1 boys (although more mature), and it started out good, then this last episode. >\
I give it an A
