     Seriously though, and this is not just directed at Glen. Why is it that everytime there is a SERIOUSLY awesome show that just HAPPENS to have the main character getting a same sex love interest (99% females) that people always say its just another L word. Are we that expressionless as a people and that limited that we can't see pass that lesbo action to the variety and diversity that that show might bring or do majority of people just have to jump and stereotype it as lesi action? Then the fuckers actually watch an episode and realize that its SOOOO much more than that. GOD it just makes me angry to think that this awesomness needs to be more out there and better than ordinary shows just to get a seat at the table, so to speak. Why is the world so fucked up?????

     You just answered your own question. 

     in USA - progressive treatment of gender, race and sex is an outlet. To a such degree that any show that does it in there, practically IS ABOUT IT, capitalizing on it,  instead of it being portrayed as natural.

     Hence why shows like Lost Girl give out such a reaction - people do not expect there to be something MORE than just that. Because it almost never is :)
