Anyone else thought Nina's acting was amazing? Seriously, I never noticed she was THAT good. lol Except when she played Katherine, of course.

A video worths a thounsand words, you should watch it. :p
Loved having the Diary thing back,
If there's ONE thing I despised in first few episodes of TVD, it was the diary crap. uhhh, so cheesy and cheap.
Uhhh, everything I hear about this show now points to it bassically being twilight:Boring useless female "lead" who can't act being bossed around by male figures in her life. More soapy uneven love triangles. Misogyny everywhere. Cures for vampyrism(what the fuck is this shit and who wrote it?) complete rape and mockery of buffy mythology by turning a symbol of female empowerment into a bunch of male slayers. More pointless filler characters who get killed off fast. No believable villains. Continuous ignore on any sort of possibilities of developing the lead trio or making them to seem like realistic people. Cheesy diary voice-overs of daytime soap.
The more I hear the less I regret of leaving this shit.
And here I thought that no show could get worse than Supernatural.
And apparantly Elena killed someone? Well boohooo:Its two seasons too late to care about. Now she could slaughter an entire town and still would be a bella swan. watch her be guilty and droll for ten episodes now, with show glorifying how much she cares and how honest and pure she is bla bla bla.
Seriously I had this hunch since start of S3, but the only way TVD could be good again is if this abomination gets cancelled and rebooted into a new show, with none of original writing staff nor actors in it.
I wouldn't say Nina is amazing, but she is good, I don't know, something about that scene where she was burrying Connor and crying was off to me, she does have decent skills though.
I really wouldn't say every other female got the same treatment. Hayley, Caroline and Bonnie we're their typical independant selves. Elena was also less of a doormat, she actively took a role in doing the saving and didn't just trust Stefan and Damon full-heartedly to pull through. This is what's changed. Previously she would only speak of how she'd go against the brothers, but this was only seen on occasional glimpses, now it feels like her words have more meat slabbed on them.
Also even though April's useless, I kinda sympathize with the dorky, awkward, mourning loner girl. She lost a good friend, but right nw she's a body to compell, I really hope there's a good reason she's still in the show besides being a love interest for Jeremy.

I usually love those characters, but her acting is lacking somewhere, I'm not sure.
But BN, those reasons you pointed out were the exact same problems you had with s3(-Diary VO's), so what's changed that this show is now more so to twilight than it was in s3?
There's only one triangle on the show still, the Klaus-Caro-Tyler thing, can barely be called a triangle, since Caro hasn't shown any feelings towards Klaus whatsoever.
I also still maintain, that the cure is not just a cure, it's something worse.
One questiont though guys, is Connor gone for good? Why would they even let him bother to mention something about his past just to kill him off a few minutes later?
To be clear, I don't think it's like twilight.
@Blood Roses, her acting is definitely off, but the weird thing is I can't pin point the exact problem.
