A lot of people her may not agree, but I thouroughly enjoyed this episode. This episode and Memorial really reminded me of TVD at it's peak and season 4 IMO is turning out to be miles better than s3, hopefully this is sustained. I'm surprised to say this, but I actually enjoyed Elena in this episode, except at near the end where her more annoying side made its appearance. Stefan worked on my nerves. Not much to say about Connor. He's dead. Boo-hoo. The way he killed that hybrid was pretty cool though. Jeremy's got the tat, yippee for him, he has a possible story. I'm really glad they're not rushing Bonnie's story, one small step for her, one giant leep for TVD. We all knew Tyler cheating on Caro wasn't gonna be that obvious, I still don't believe that absolutely nothing happened between him and Hayley but I'm really liking their plan to de-sire hybrids, thus making Klaus' actions utterly pointless. Speaking of... best thing about this episode and Memorial:
Not much Klaus, proving that this show still has some bite left in it, without the character. I think I'm done with my babbling. Your thoughts?
no idea why, but the places i frequent are enraged by this show right now calling the newest episode the biggest concentration of misogyny and sexism that even tops even Supernatural(which I find hard to believe since that whole show is a huge misogynist propaganda)...
so what the hell happened exactly?
I wouldn't call so much misogyny as I would doucebaggery on the Salvabros part. But this is nothing new to them. As usual, they tried to take complete control of the hostage situation, relegating Elena to backseat, also nothing new. Naturally Damon found out about the Cure and they decided that it was in Elena's best interest not to know and for them to find it so they could be her undead heroes.
Badass Elena baby ! FINALLY :p
This season is no disappointement so far.
I actually loved this episode too! I had lost all my excitement for tvd somewhere in season 3 and finally got one ep worth watching! Characters other than Elena got focus, (yay Bonnie), glad Jeremy is getting some direction. Also Elena actually showed anger and emotion, I liked the way she just killed Connor! Lets face it we all knew he wasnt gonna survive long, I think he may be back as like a ghost mentor to Jeremy or something..
Our fears concerning Forwood being thrown under the rug cuz Tyler cheated proved to be untrue so the Writers dodged a bullet, cuz that wouldve been a cheap way to end them.. Love Phoebe! Loved Caroline getting mad, the acting was amped up this ep and as much as I hate the main DES characters, the last scene between the Salvitores was kinda sweat!
Salvatores* Sweet* sorry lol
I agree with you Charmed-Jenna on all counts! The originals (as much as i love them) being on all the time is a bad idea and getting super annoying, they take away major screen time/development of other characters.. This season feels fresher and way better, lot less going on per episode! Loved having the Diary thing back, very s1-ish, the good old days.. I missed it, also plz bring back the crow and the fog lol..
Naturally Damon found out about the Cure and they decided that it was in Elena's best interest not to know and for them to find it so they could be her undead heroes.
Well and I have no idea how such a shitty disgraceful plot could be called "Good".
This show seems to have just taken the term "Objectification of female" to a whole new damn level.
so what the hell happened exactly?
The usual, Salvatores are taking Elena's autonomy from her (Stefan wants the cure for her because she's not supposed to be a vampire, Damon doesn't care either way so if he helps, he's doing it for ~Stefan) and Elena being incredibly stupid and incompetent female lead.
It's funny how that ep was kinda hyped for Elena doing stuff!!!#1@ . She did nothing because the Salvatores bossed her around, and when she did she wrecked their plans by killing Connor ("you told me to kill him, so I did").
[I still can't believe "Memorial" was hyped for being tear-worthy. Those deaths had no impact, am I supposed to be impressed the show remember their names or something?]
Pretty much everything about this episode was predictable, but I still enjoyed it.
ofc the male slayers hunters are activated by death. lmao.
next thing you know the show will spend entire season with lead female being kidnapped, like Kripke's new misogyny propaganda, Revolution, did.
Oh wait...TVD did that already too...
