Yeah, I feel like that curse was totally random just to make it sound like darling Elena went through hell...
But what if it works the other way, not just like person's conscience? They always portray Elena as someone with compassion as her most obvious trait, so what if that hunter's curse works like that? It goes after something that affects you the most.
In Klaus' case, maybe the hunters he saw told him he's unworthy, he'll always be alone etc. Things Klaus doesn't like hearing.

^ Exactly my point. If a vampire switch it off, one would assume non of that matters, leaving the curse as a big joke.

but from what we've seen on the show, there's something about every vampire that makes them feel even when they switch it off. For Katherine it was her family, for Damon it's Elena I guess (lol), for Klaus it's what Karally said.
I think this curse thing is stupid and I agree with you Halde, but from what we've seen on TVD, it kinda makes sense?? i don't even know with this show anymore. i don't pay much attention to anything anymore.

Well i am a bit confused if vampires can turn some of their feelings on. We've been told, it's an either/or deal, but everthing that happens contradicts it. Actions on the show suggest that vampires can choose which parts of the human experience they wanna turn off.
It's hard to figure when they change the rules of the world to fit each individual episode LOL.
