I never thought it was epic just cool in that dark twisted way.

I knew it was understandable, but unlike 3 of you I didn't find it "epic"

I found it sympathetic and yes, a little bit "epic".

was it wrong and horrible and cruel? Yes. But it was Allison's moment to shine. Characters are not required to do POSITIVE things to shine or be awesome. Buffy's first screw with Spike was hugely epic and at the same time disturbing and wrong.

For me it did not make me HATE her. It made me understand her more, just like Faith's downvard spiral, murders and all the cruelty made me understand that character and LIKE that character more. Because it adds layers.

The problem is that your average Derek stan felt that her reaction was DISPROPORTIONATE and condemned her for being human.

According to average Derek stan she should have stayed put, cried on Scott's shoulder and moved on the next day.

I also want to elaborate: the justification for Allison's actions are not there. She was wrong...period, but for those who understand her emotional meltdown and the sociological ramifications behind it, it is clear she went off the rails.

Yeah, it's okay to say you understand it but to just say it's justified, really just no. Either way, I did not like her actions but it's rather pathetic that Derek's fans (not all ofc) think Scott's actions to protect his mom and Alison's actions to avenge her mom, warrant in both of them needing to die. I mean like you said, Derek is not that special.

also a lot fans were upset with Allison going after derek as well. Which I know he saved Scott. But Derek has been a shady guy and a thorn in Allison's and scotts side. So her getting fed up with him is understandable. Plus Issac and Erica were also tormenting Allison and scott in the beginning of there wolf phase. As much as a like Erica. She did threaten Allison a few times and tried to hurt her. And I know they were new wolves but they never questioned the things they did in the beginning like scott did. Scott had enough sense to understand Derek wasn't on the up and up. The only really totally innocent by stander is boyd who really didn't deserve all those arrows. I'm not justifying her actions but fans demanding her to apologies to them is ridiculous. They all done things they need to apologizes for.

^that does NOT excuse Allison's actions, but it does give motivation for her actions in her break-down and make us understand on why she did what she did.

And there's no need for apology. "Apologizing" is a derogatory action in fictional stories, usually placing one character as "inferior" to the other. Does Allison need to do something to "get on the good side" again? Yes. But it does not involve begging or apologizing.

Faith did not go around apologizing to EVERYONE in the cast for everything ("Hey Willow, sorry for trying to kill you or beating you up, hey Giles sorry for manipulating you, hey Buffy sorry for stealing your body, hey Angel sorry for trying to kill you again and again). She did apologize(or try to) for the MOST extreme actions(torturing Wesley, for example), but Allison did NOT cross that line, And yet without any tearful apologies the show has managed to redeem faith to those characters.

I can only hope that TW does NOT take the cheap way out and actually puts effort into redeeming Allison the correct way, without implying that grief is wrong or that she should somehow be the only one responsible for fallible human nature.

Yep Erika and Isaac were stalking and harassing them all to kill Lydia, Alison's best friend. But in that scene you just naturally forget about whatever Erika or Boyd did in the past because at that moment neither of them were doing anything wrong and you also naturally sympathize because they're 2 kids trying to run away from home and holding hands together while hunters are roaming the woods. I think unbiased fans are hard to find.

Derek fans cannot seem to get past the moment. As I stated in my other post, the writers had to take this route for what they have in mind for Season 3. (The rabbit hole comment) Do I like Allison for the scene? Absolutely not. Was it necessary for the main objective Davis has for the future? Yes.

Yes. Erica and Issac did stalk all of them to kill Lydia. But what were Allison's motives at that particular moment? That is what I looked at...Despite the past scenes, which most characters on the show are anything but faultless in their actions towards each other, would she have killed beyond Derek's group? Most likely...if she had seen more wolves.

As one person also pointed out, Allison's actions are not justified, but we do know the "why" of her actions.

It's these kids I tell you. Trends like "Kill Alison" has got to be a bunch of 12 year olds along with some older fans who haven't grown up yet.

It's still a new show, give it another another season and you will get death threats in your inbox for simple opinions. Quite frankly, a sterek fan annoys me highly as much as a DE'r lately. Look at OUAT, season 2 is barely coming out and Ginny has already gotten tweets calling her a homophobe for saying swanqueen won't happen. TVD should not be labeled as the only ridiculous fandom, even the good shows has its idiots.

By observation so far, TVD fans are winning the competition for the bat shit awards. This may change, as with any show, but I will tell you that certain shows do seem to attract more--shall we say--irrational fans with the toxic personality of three year olds.

I am not disappointed by TVD. It will never rise to the level of shows on other networks. It offers a little eye candy and comic relief moments in the writing where I can shake my head at the absurdity of the scenes and character development.

Vampire Diaries Quotes

You want a love that consumes you. You want passion and adventure, and even a little danger... I want you to get everything you're looking for. But for right now, I want you to forget that this happened. Can't have people knowing I'm in town yet. Goodnight, Elena.

Damon

Damon: You know what they are? Children. Like lighting a candle's going to make everything OK, or even saying a prayer. Or pretending Elena's not going to end up just like the rest of us murdering vampires. Stupid, delusional, exasperating little children. And I know what you're going to say: 'It makes them feel better, Damon.' So what? For how long? A minute, a day? What difference does it make? Because in the end, when you lose somebody, every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact that the only thing you have left is hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be. And a rock with a birthday carved into it that I'm pretty sure is wrong. So thanks, friend. Thanks for leaving me here to babysit. Because I should be long gone by now. I didn't get the girl, remember? I'm just stuck here fighting my brother and taking care of the kids. You owe me big.
Alaric: I miss you too, buddy.
