The senior year is the reason fans are speculating which characters will shift to spin off, because it was said in interviews that some char's will realize they need to leave MF. That college Shane teaches in will probably be in season 5, but if you have a KC fans perspective (which I don't entirely agree with), you'll take some lines in consideration and believe it to be foreshadow, such as "good thing high school's almost over" I look at that more as optimism though.

Foreshadowing? People really think that high of TVD writers? Please...
All this talk about the town being too small for Caroline, about the beautiful world out there that she needs to explore e.t.c. could be fitting if they decide to get her out of MF, but it was definitely not done on purpose.
People who think Katherine doesn't show up because of Klaus are naive. Plec keeps using him as a convenient excuse, but it was obvious come season 3 that she didn't know what to do with Katherine any more. And I'm sure Nina welcomed this absense, too.

YESSSSSSSS. Her fans cry and call him the obstacle but really it is not impossible to keep her on there, especially if every episode did not take place in mystic freaking falls, because we all know she's jumping continents and stuff. Which is funny because he doesn't even care.
