Ugh, I never bought the pseudo-triangle JP was trying to sell me for the past 4 years....for me what was in the books was the real stuff...this was horse crap from the beginning.THIS.
While S1 DE reminded me of the books a bit, Plec MAJORLY failed at triangle and that's mainly because she majorly failed at all those characters involved in it
so Bored Now if you like it De then why don t you like Klaroline? they are hurt too, with tragedies and i can say commons, family tragedies.Caroline =/= Elena
S1-Elena = Build up of "head bitch in charge who gets drunk and cares about nothing" getting her parents killed, developing cptsd over it and trying to tone down everything she is, even though those traits of old her still show up in both high quality make-up(and actual jewelry), competitiveness and slip-ups towards people. That Elena is someone who tries to keep herself together but the old "fun-Elena" just wants out. Great baseline, all that is needed is some character growth and focus on her character, which never comes.
S1-Caroline= Wants to be head-bitch-in-charge and appear to be that, but overall is nice, caring and just girl full of complexes. Knows right from wrong and does not hesitate to call people out on that. AS vampire, its all amplified making her the moral compass of the show.
The VERY start of both characters is already different.
Caroline's development continues in that direction.
Elena's does not as S2 retcons her into complete caring mary sue, invalidating DE completely both due to her and damon's characters.
S1-Damon and S1-Elena were very similar people trying to pretend to be who they are not(with the truth being somewhere in the middle). So Elena can easily be built in into someone who CAN forgive Damon for all the shenanigans and even find his whole dickish behavior "hot"(just like book-Elena did)
Caroline on other hand will never ever ever ever do that to Klaus
KC currently is only possible if:
- Klaus turns into complete wussy puppy.
- Caroline's character is completely destroyed and retconed.
Both options are very yuck.
DE currently just does not work at all because the momentum, the ship had and the character build up adn compatibility have been destroyed.

Plot twist: everyone ignores BN and after a while he' actually has some purpose in life other than bashing TVD.Oh, dearie, I have my purpose in life since long time ago, as well as enough shows(that are actually good quality) to watch, but that will never ever stop me from finding time to despise Julie Plec and her writing
