Do you think reading spoilers ruins the shock factor of Gossip Girl?

What are some pros and cons of reading them?

For me, personally, no. I've tried a few episodes where I didn't read spoilers and no diff really. With Gossip Girl, even after reading spoilers, the scenes may end up differently than what you imagined them to be in your head anyway. xD

I'm with enunciiate  - I read & saw lots of spoilers especially for "Inglorious Basstards" but it didn't ruin everything. I think I couldn't survive without any spoilers really. I love them and often they make you more curious about a new episode. BUT of course it could spoil the fun - that's different with every episode and scene. I think the hype about the gay kiss with Chuck and the threesome were totally overrated because you knew everything before it actually happened. With this last episode it didn't ruin anything although I had already watched the canadian spoilers and everything - it still made me cry :(

Personally, I avoid spoilers and sneak peaks. It ruins the experience and that first initial reaction. You can make up your own mind about it while watching it, instead of being subjected to spoiler discussions. Leaves you subjective and biased. I recommend we all avoid spoilers forever.

The spoilers definitely killed my shock about Chuck's betrayal. That's the reason I can't get mad at him.

Stella, you are absolutely correct, internet and tv were buzzing about a horrible thing Chuck is gonna do, and I couldnt fight the temptation to see what it is.

It killed the strong anger reaction, which me as a female, should have had immediately after seeing what he did. Spoilers ruin that. I hate spoilers. After last episode, i refuse to read spoilers no matter how hard I actually do wanna read them :)

yes, spoilers do have an effect of "spoiling" things. It really depends on how specific the spoilers. If you, for example, tune in to the weekly canadian spoilers, then yes, it will be all spoiled. But if you just read the articles posted here, they are too vague to figure everything out.

That was the problem. I read posts posted by Canadians. Most horrible idea. I knew exactly how the break-up was gonna go down, and any natural reaction was gone. Sadly.

I like the spoilers. I couldn't live without them and if you don't like the spoilers, it your choice. No one is forcing you to read them.
