Cont... As for this episode I loved that they showed the softer side to Kamekono, and thought it was hilarious when Danny could not put the handcuffs on him, and asked if there was a bicycle chain in the trunk. Summer Glau did play her emotional scenes well, and I loved her kickass scene. I hope we see her again. Doris and Mick make a good couple. I do hope they don't take long to explain what actually happened with Doris and her connection to Wofat. I don't think that will have to end the character.
I liked this episode. I think the writing is fine. Loved seeing Catherine, they are showing her the way they said they would, and not blasting her in every episode which was the complaint with Lori. McG needs a girlfriend, you would expect him to have a girlfriend. Look at him! I hope we see more of her. I think the Doris character is played right, of course we don't trust her and neither should Steve. I don't like what she did to her family, but then again it is a TV show not real. They are telling a story, to make it interesting, you can't have every character be trusted, sweet, and normal. The core 4 have their flaws as well. Danny is fine, thats his character and he plays well off of Steve. I think too many people talk like everyone in their is perfect, every relationship is perfect, no one has an opinion opposite theirs, no one bitches and whines about things, etc. I think they need to look at their lives a little closer and just enjoy a show and don't take it seriously, the actors and writers don't. Love this season
I watched the original on CBS.com over the weekend. It was a great episode, and I think that the current H50 did a great job recreating it and still having it updated to today. I loved seeing that they used the same scenes, even the green Mustang. The original had about 50 minutes, which shows you how much all of today's shows, show commercials. The average show today is around 42 minutes. I would have loved to see another 8 minutes of our show, but money talks. I think that they did put in a little debate on the gun control issue. I don't see anything wrong in that, they did not go on forever, and showed both sides. I don't think Danny did not know the laws that Hawaii has, he was simply stating an opinion, which is what Danny does. You would expect him to be the one to do so, which is in character, so the writers did a good job without going on and on about it. Very enjoyable show, I like the character stuff, but we need one every so often about the crime itself.
Have watched it from the start. Can't believe its been 10 years. Very happy about the early extension.
@Walter...thanks for the information. Sounds good, one of my favorite Magnum episodes was when Sinatra was on tracking the killer of his granddaughter. Rick owned a club in Magnum. Looking forward to the rest of the season with our new TV hero's in Hawaii.
@ke,or K, or is it Kelly....again, Danny is what he is. He was put into a place he did not want to go. He is there because of his daughter and no other reason. Now that she has adjusted herself, any good father would not want to move her once again, that shows character, thinking of whats best for his child and not himself. You always complain that people have different opinions and if you don't like something then say it. Well, is that not what Danny is doing? And aren't you complaining about him the way you say me and others complain about you and others like you? You can't have it both ways. Danny is a character that Scott plays, he is not real, Hawaii five 0 task force is not real, neither are the other characters or situations. If you are not entertained there are other shows, if it bothers you so much you complain constantly then why torture yourself. The character is not going to change, this is the way he has been portrayed. I don't think its bad at all, and thats my opinion.
Thanks Walter. I'm still hoping for Tom Selleck, but I guess that would be difficult. Larry Manetti was a big part of Magnum. I wonder what he will play. This is a great show, very entertaining and Danny is what he is. Cops are not robots whether in real life or on TV. If they were all the same I don't think anyone would be watching. Realism is what you get when you go outside your door. TV is a fantasy land, if you think its real, or expect it to teach people things, then watch a documentary.
Yes, I understand what you are all saying about the shooting, I thought the same thing, but the rest of the episode I thought was great. I absolutely loved seeing McG in his uniform, and the scene with them waiting outside the courtroom was classic bromance. Glad to see that the Govenor isn't as much of a jerk as they portrayed him. Hopefully he is an honest one and Five-0 has won him over. I did recognize the voice of WoFat in the beginning, but then I had expected him in this one, so I was kind of waiting for it. I love Mark Dacoscas' Wofat, he is truly evil and played very well. I was surprised to see a helicopter rescue two days in a row, but you can't capture Wofat, he's just too good a villian. I assumed that Danny would eventually get Grace, but I was thrilled they did not drag that out. I love Scott's Daddy moments, always shows what a good actor he is.
Pam....CBS.com usually has the full episodes of shows on for a little while.
@Jschoi....I think you are right, Kono is going to get into trouble at some point because of Adam. We know the team will help her out, but I am glad that they are showing her not being fooled and blind to what may be going on. @Joanna....I hope they don't kill Adam off at some point, although thats where they might be going. I don't know yet if he's really good and trying to change, or if he is going to the dark side with his brother. I like Adam, but it would be boring if everything went smoothly for Kono. I'm just happy both and Chin and Kono have continuing storylines. I love Steve and Danny, but we need a little more of these two thrown in.
