Here's the deal. You know NOTHING about me and you're assuming that because I do not think their relationship is a healthy one it's because it's an interracial one. That could NOT be further from the truth. AT ALL. I do not hate Fitz and Olivia because they're not from the same racial background. You will NEVER find anywhere that I have said that or claims to support that my dislike of their current relationship has anything to do with race. If you're reading bigoted arguments like that elsewhere, I suggest you stop giving those people pageviews. I was not then nor am I now a Grey's Anatomy viewer so I cannot speak to the Meredith-Derrick relationship as a comparison.
I agree with you that Scandal is not about Mellie. That's why I don't like that she and Olivia are constantly pitted against one another about a MAN. Not a job. Not a political office. Not a leadership position. A MAN. Women are better than that. We're stronger than that. We don't need to bicker and argue and namecall about men. They can both be strong women in their spheres of influence without catfighting. You and I agree that love triangles are stupid and that throwing Olivia between two men alters the landscape of Scandal. It's suddenly no longer about Olivia, the strong, sexy, powerful woman, and becomes about Olivia who needs a man in her life. THAT enrages me as a viewer. The relationships on this show are ALL broken and damaged and unhealthy. I don't care who is with whom or what color their skin might be so long as the relationships are healthier than what we're seeing week to week.
It's really not about whether I want this triangle to happen or not. It's happening. Look at the writing. Olivia goes back and forth between Jake and Fitz and that makes it a triangle. And I don't hate Fitz mainly because of the affair. I don't hate him at all. I just think that he's not a strong man and has been handed a lot in his life without really working for it and is also sort of spineless unless he's standing up for what inevitably turns out to be a bad decision. We don't yet know the extent of Mellie and Andrew's past, but if I had to guess I'd say that Mellie didn't cheat but will now.
I like where you're going with James and Cyrus working together. Now I want to rewatch to see what Cyrus said when that microphone was in his office to see if he's setting Sally and Leo up.
I'm guessing that when Stefan snapped his neck and Damon "died" the spell broke. Too bad Enzo wasn't smart enough to try that. (And really, that's what Enzo should've kept doing and what Damon should've LET Enzo keep doing so Damon wouldn't eat him.)
I agree with you in general, but since it's a sci-fi show, I can handwave that they've created standards of perfection for each Chrome. It's not that they're all perfect, it's just that they're genetically engineered according to their parents' specifications of perfection. The guy with Stahl even said that it wasn't a flawless process since his brother becamse a sculptor.
I definitely shipped them in season 1. I don't so much care now who she ends up with, but I'm just calling that she will end up with Jack. The writing on the wall about that is pretty clear.
Hell yes, she did! Loved every minute of her tonight!
The love "quadrangle" HAS been abysmal. It's been a constant set-up/tear-down to make the various relationships viable and it does feel forced. The Niko thing and Aiden is just...weird. If Emily's not going to be with Aiden, they need to write him out of the show. Don't divide our screen time with Niko avenging Takeda and Emily and the Graysons. Just focus on Emily.
I also think he got pissed at her when he found out she'd lied, but I also think there's a part of him who is totally on board with her Revengenda and is secretly excited to contine the takedowns, especially now that he's even more inside than he was before. I'm team Emily/Jack as end game, but I don't at all like how they've been shoved back together this season. It worked in season 1.
