It was clearly stated (by Rowan Pope himself) that Fitz won that election because no one votes out the guy who just lost his son on live television. The election happened AFTER Jerry's death and after Mama Pope blew up the church where Fitz was supposed to be and whatshisface made Sally look like a saint by helping the survivors. Rowan then killed Jerry and blamed it on Mama Pope assuring himself that Fitz would a) be re-elected and b) reappoint him as Command for detaining Maya Pope and saving him from TWO scandals involving the terrorist-murderer he set free on his mistress' request.
If you bothered to read, you'd see I didn't hate Olivia, and I typically don't unless the writers write her to be weak like they did for half of last season. So, you know, go on being uninformed about my views about her.
Tom definitely hitched himself to the wrong wagon. And yes, I'm with you. Jake killing Jerry Jr. makes absolutely zero sense. What motivation could he possibly have had for doing so? But you can bet your buttons Olivia is the main reason Fitz is going after Jake and not his son's death. Despicable.
They ARE all unlikable, and really, I can deal with that. Most of the time. I'm okay with everyone being morally gray. It's not that Fitz is supposed to say "okay, that's cool" but he does need to understand that she shouldn't have to sit and wait and not live because he's married and President. What's that saying about letting go of the things you love and they'll come back to you? That.
Sincerest apologies. It's been a crazy week for me. I'm hoping to have one up for you guys this afternoon. Monday at the latest. (But for this week's episode instead of last.)
They're definitely addicted to one another, him to her moreso than her to him, I think. She doesn't NEED him to find happiness. At least, I don't think she does. But his world completely stops when she's not in it and that's not healthy. It's an obsession and not a relationship.
I love Joe Morton and Rowan Pope is a great villain, but I'm sort of tired of seeing him win.
I'd actually sort of love to see someone come to Abby for help with a crisis and see her go up against Olivia. Abby's being wasted at the White House.
He does reduce her. He makes her into nothing more than a sex object, something he can get jealous about. He can't have her but neither can anyone else.
