@ below Oh that would be a change. characters have yet to die in this show before they overstay their welcome, become boring or are revived for a dozen of times.

yawn, who wants to be that the "new light on rebekah" is YET ANOTHER love story. Since with the amounts of misogyny and sexism in this show, females are not allowed to have any kinds of other plots.

And Matt is not that. TVD has nothing like that, which leads to TVD characters not having any consequences for their fuck-ups, nor reacting to the events at hand. Which leads to dull and boring show with completely incomprehensible and unrelatable characters who are incapable of EXPERIENCING the events they participate in, nor reacting to them.

Now, according to Zach in this interview, Matt's the moral compass because he does what he thinks is right. As in, what his heart tells him to do. Which is to protect Elena. You figure something witty to say, I'm stunned
by this idea, EVERYONE is moral compass, even the rapist serial killer Damon, because he ALSO does what he thinks is right. That's the thing with morality for most of the time character morality is depending on point of view - most of those doing wrong have a perfectly valid reason to justify it as right. Which is why storylines usually have someone who is impartial to situation, not clouded by the emotions and has correct values and experience in life to judge. Character does not need to be flawless, is allowed to make mistakes, but the common factor is that the Moral Compass does not act upon what he is thinking is right - he is acting upon what COMMON MAJORITY Of audience and society thinks is right. And Matt is not that. TVD has nothing like that, which leads to TVD characters not having any consequences for their fuck-ups, nor reacting to the events at hand. Which leads to dull and boring show.

I also keep wondering who Henry's dad is, and if he has any connection to the tale.
Its pretty much a common guess now that Rumple's son is Henry's father as Emma described him as "dangerous" older man and "bad business".

I was also kind of flummoxed by the addition of the "dementors" doing their soul-sucking thing right out of Harry Potter...a
Potter invented only a few things. A lot of creatures in it is based upon european folk lore and scare stories. Dementors are just Potterverse's version of wraiths from the european folklore (spectral like floating ghosts in rags who steal souls and signify death and disease, etc)

what was up with the dementors?even the soul sucking part looked the same as harry potter!
Dementors are based upon the same type of mythological ghost creature from european folklore as the guys in this episode. The general look is same through the majority of stories that have them. the similarities also highlight that its a multiversal creature existing in many lands, that goes by many names in others universes.

I would have wanted regina dead too, and I agree with the reviewer, henry is reginas achilles heel and I think he will be the one to bring her down in the end.
I thoroughly disagree, because I do not think Regina will be "brought down" she will be redeemed adn yes Henry IS the path to redemption for her, just like Belle is for Gold.

The postcard message is the key to who was the man in the opening sequence. Who would consider Storybrooke to be "broken" as opposed to "fixed?"
I think the "broken" parts means that Curse has been broken and the character supposedly could enter storybrooke now. 3) Fairyland scenes are no longer flashbacks. They are concurrent in time w/Storybrooke, which is a nice change.
Actually no they are not. In this episode, Storybrooke part of the story was a giant flashback that happens before the wake-up of Aurora. In the upcoming episodes we will have THREE kinds of scenes - Storybrooke present, FTL flashback and FTL present.

What "moral compass"? This show does not have any. By now, the only possible explanation for them ignoring half the stuff they should have reacted to and NOT even getting any consequences for their actions, is that 99% of the cast are sociopaths,
