  1. Bones Review: Eye of the Tiger

Rest of posting: woman as a counterfoil to his teenage angst and naivete. Did I mention "mature"?
  2. Bones Review: Eye of the Tiger

First, I have been a fan of "Bones" since day one, primarily because I have read all of the books by Kathy Reich. I get that Temperances' character on TV is "based" on the Temperance in the books, but they sure have nothing in common besides their name. Probably my biggest problem with TV Bones is how socially ignorant TB is, supposedly because she is such a genius. In the real world, NO ONE that inept could hold a position that high, at least not for long. If she's so damned smart, she should be able to figure out that she is seriously lacking in her ability to process the real world and take steps to remedy or lessen the problem. Taking everything so literally on a constant basis wears thin after awhile. The writers are better than this and I wish they would get over their boredom and remember what made the show so interesting and so much fun.
PS: Please leave Daisy in the trash heap of scripts. Few characters have been so annoying. Sweets needs a gorgeous, mature, very intelligent woman--and did I say mature? While Sweets and his teenage angst are endearing, everyone has to grow up at some point.
  3. Castle Review: Shhh! Someone Knows

Finally. Writers must be watching the comments--the humor and great chemistry is back! Every one of the cast shone brightly last night, giving depth to their characters without getting sappy/sickening. After watching the previews for next week, I'm thinking that will be the episode that blows their relationship into the open. They get involved in a murder in the Hamptons, you just KNOW their Chief will be called. Gates is seriously annoying but not stupid--first question out of HER pursed little mouth is gonna be "What da hell are you two doing in the Hamptons...together?"....can't wait to hear the answer.....besides, the writers have already proven they can write around the relationship and not let it overshadow the entire program. Just need to get Gates' panties out of a knot....find those ugly damned dolls, Castle, and get her a 3rd one for good measure!
  4. Covert Affairs Season Premiere Review: Marrakesh Impressed

Went back and watched the episode again after I cooled down. Unfortunately, nothing changed. Crappy writing, sullenly delivered dialogue, poor editing and absolutely no heart in any of the major characters--at least, none on display in THIS episode. Lena is OBVIOUSLY a dual agent, using Annie for her own nefarious ends and Piper delivers her lines like an automaton--where has her spark gone? Had great hopes for this show but it would appear they are all for naught. Pity.
  5. NCIS to Explore Love ... in an Elevator?

the rest of the last sentence is: ....they get stupid.
  6. NCIS to Explore Love ... in an Elevator?

Ducky will carefully mentor "The Kid", from his bedside, if necessary. Also offers a great opportunity for a "dream sequence" while he's recovering; Abby does what she has to do to stay on top of technology--that's implied and occasionally mentioned. As for "maturing"...why? If I had looked that great at 42, I guarantee I wouldn't have backed off! Besides, TV-land doesn't have the same "time" as reality--one season could be only 1 month in their "lives". Yeah, Tony needs to grow up, emotionally--it's the writers fault if they don't portray him in a more mature and appreciated way. For all of those whining about Ziva--get the hell over it! She's a part of the team, has made her bones and done a good job of fitting in. I'd like to see Gibbs develope something with Diane Neal's character--she's smart enough to keep up with him and knows his "world" better than most. Face it, fans, It's the writers that will make or break this show--by now, they are getting bored and when writers get bored they do really stupid things. Enjoy while we still have it.
  7. NCIS Re-Signs Michael Weatherly, Sean Murray and Pauley Perrette For Seasons 10-11

It would be nice if the writers would let Tony grow up (at least a LITTLE bit) and quit with the Tiva crap. I think they have used the illusion of sexual tension between Tony & Ziva to establish her character and place in the show. In answer to the poster complaining about Gibbs--the show was and still is built around Gibbs and the interaction of his team, whoever they may be. It survived the casting changes/departures of several primary characters and hardly skipped a beat. IF--and that can be a real BIG word-- the writers don't get terminally stupid, it will be #1 for a long time.
  8. Covert Affairs Season Premiere Review: Marrakesh Impressed

The rest of the last sentence was "What is WITH you, writers??
  9. Covert Affairs Season Premiere Review: Marrakesh Impressed

OK....I am SOOO pissed at the writers right now. They have forgotten the prime rule for a successful show: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. A big part of the charm of this show was Annies' naivete combined with her willingness to jump in without over-analyzing. Right off the bat, they have her sleeping with the enemy, the rest of the regular group sitting on the fringes picking their noses while hotshot Lena gives Annie apparent carte blanche to do any damned thing she wants to do. NONONONO!!!! The setup was the appeal--Joan pissing on trees to establish her identity apart from "hubby", Auggie showcasing that a blind person can be a high level producer--Annie trying to repress her attraction to Auggie and learn how to deal with all of the CIA crap.. Jai blown up? Not bloody likely. No one even registered it in their faces or their dialogue. At some point, he and Lena both will be outed as bad guys. Piper P doesn't seem to have her heart in this season and neither does Christopher--WHAT in hell is going on? What is WITH you, writers?
  10. NCIS Round Table: "Til Death Do Us Part"

Do any of these comments ever find their way to the producers/writers/actors? Going on the faint hope that they do, I want to put MY 2 cents in for: (1) better storylines for McGee--be done with the "probie" crap and accord the same level of respect for the character as the others (2)A reasonable redhead for Gibbs, preferably with a functioning IQ to match his (3)resolution to the obvious pairings--do it, then don't let it become an issue in the storylines! Writers are not always known for their sensitivity to fans--but here's a real clear challenge to them--IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T TRY TO FIX IT!
  11. Castle Round Table: "Always"

Excellent season finale! Just enough tease to bring us back in the fall but still enough ends tied off to satisfy.I disagree with the Gates-lovers. She's a distraction and an irritant and *I* don't even work for her. Either mellow her out to a tolerable level or write her out.I concur with the previous poster to bring in someone else that wants Kate, et al, back. Espo & Ryan will be fine as soon as they have some time to think it thru--probably no longer than mid-first episode, new season. As for the long awaited coming together--hallelujah! Now, we can get on to something else. Here is where it gets tricky--the writers can REALLY make or break this show with how they handle "Caskett". They can either do a classy Nick & Nora Charles or they can go down the tubes with a "Moonlighting" scenario--which, regardless of reason, was still crappy.
  12. NCIS: Los Angeles Season Finale Review: Checkmate

Minus Hetty and Callen, this is a no-go-show. The idea that it was all staged is viable except for blowing up Lauren. Kind of hard to "fake" that unless they were using "projection" to APPEAR to place her in the car. If Granger is Chameleon, HURRAH! Get rid of him one way or another. Hetty doing the resignation thing again was for the benefit of ????? Unless the writers are giving even MORE "power" to Granger and Hetty doesn't know it was a setup. If that is the direction, kiss this program goodbye--Ferrar cannot, in his wildest dreams, carry this show as effectively as Hetty.
  13. The Mentalist Season 5: Darkness Ahead

I once really looked forward to watching this show, but have grown seriously weary of the RJ schtick. Yes, PJ is an excellent actor that can bring out both light and dark but even that is wearing thin. The producers seem to have a death wish of their own with this show and are doing a great disservice to both the actors and the fans. The obnoxious little cretin they brought in as "the boss" could easily be RJ himself--he's certainly a sociopath. I may watch the first couple of episodes in the fall to see if they stay on this self-destructive theme. Most folks watch tv programs to be entertained--not depressed...we can get that watching the news.
  14. NCIS Season 10 Spoilers: What Comes Next

OK, writers...you have pages of fan opinion here--pay attention, damn it! Lose JLC character--as thus far defined, she isn't fit to be a partner to Gibbs. Bring that lawyer back, and you will REALLY lose viewers--she had to be one of the most obnoxious characters yet. Find someone with the class and dignity a Gibbs mate must have. Yes, let Tony grow up while keeping some of his more endearing traits-quit with the "probie" crap. Ziva adds a great deal to the show and needs a mature sparring partner in her life not a post adolescent bully. McGee & Abby are a natural together. It's nice to give them ALL a personal life and the occasional mini-arc aside from the episode arc, but that isn't why we watch the show. As for Vance--either lighten his ass up or promote him out of there--he's a real drag on the rest of the characters. Gibbs as Director? NOT! He'd be in the psych ward in a week....
  15. Castle Review: Zombies On The Loose

OK..we're winding down to the season finale, after which we get to wait until at least Sept., maybe October, to pick up the thread again.--that's 4+ MONTHS! Then, we'll have at least one full season of trying to keep nasty ol' Gates in the dark. I kind of like the previous post suggesting a detective agency ....why not? Wouldn't have to put up with Gates any more--put Espo & Ryan to work for them. There have been several notable detective "couples" over the years, one even made it to the big screen--anyone old enough to remember Nick & Nora Charles? Good epi last night--just the right amount of humor and emotion.
  16. Bones Review: Hooked

I'm with farsia and rt--Brennan needed to do something besides look worried. As a life-long step-mom myself, Parkers' actions could easily have been interpreted negatively. Neither parent, however, used their head to discern exactly where Parker was going! Parker DOES need to be seen more often as a true part of the family and Brennan needs to simply LOVE the kid, not analyze him!
  17. NCIS Review: A Slow Burner

ALL RIGHT! Back on track--guess the writers finally got the message: ain't broke, don't try to fix it! Solid beginning to season-closing arc. Then, we have to (im)patiently wait until what?October? I miss the "old" days when a series ran weekly from Sept-June. Good spotlight on Weatherly's actual acting chops instead of the usual I-am-such-a-hottie schtick. Also glad to see 'McGee' looking a lot healthier and a lot less reactive to the "Probie" crap dished out by the others.
  18. Castle Review: Well Done, Sherlock

(yaaaawn) I long ago gave up on any rational writing about Caskett--what a bilious term! The writers goal is to drag it on as long as the ratings stay up. There is no other logic employed. This episode was boring and, to a degree, disturbing, as it appeared that a weak kneed Castle was condoning the brutal tactics employed by Baldwins' character--Slaughter was every bit as much a thug as those he was chasing. Kate has really turned me off with her dithering.Put your big girl panties on and DEAL with it! Both this show and BONES could benefit greatly if (a) there were better writers and (b) they could acknowledge that a married/commited team could be just as interesting as 2 singles...ohh! that's right...it would take really good writers to pull that off!(Does ANYONE remember Nick & Nora Charles, or Moonlighting before the writers lost their IQ?)
  19. NCIS Review: Look to Yourself

The writers screwed the pooch on this one. NO ONE in the fan base is happy with anything that went down, me included. (Yeah, I know--who cares)I initially thought the JLC arc would be interesting for Gibbs, but not a permanent thing. As others have cited, there's no trust between them and that is of prime importance to Gibbs. Neither do I think there will EVER be a TIVA--too much pain on either side to over come. The show has been renewed, so it's an arc that could well carry over from this season to next. I HOPE not, but when writers get a bug up their...nose, it's hard to re-direct them.
  20. Person of Interest Review: All In the Family

This show has slowly grown on me. I really like the chemistry of Reese and Finch--kinda like a collision of reality(Reese)and fantasy(Finch). Carter is one of the ballsiest roles for a woman I've ever seen and she really gives it depth, dimension and a baseline of honesty. Fusco.....hmmmm...jury is still out on exactly where his loyalties are....As for Elias--I hope the writers don't take this story arc and make it a semi-permanent part of the show. Kill the bastard off and make sure he's dead. Must admit, tho'--Reese reminds me of why I still need hormones....
  21. Castle Review: Tomorrow's Never Promised

PAH!!! Writers are the bane of a good shows existence! They get into a "string-it-along" rut and just stop thinking. The potential storylines for AFTER these two get together is phenomenal but the writers just aren't seeing it. I am going to be DONE with this series if the writers don't poop or get off the pot with this relationship. If the writers give still ANOTHER "cliffhanger" season ender, I won't even tune in to see the 1st episode of next season. The actors are a great ensemble team and the writers are simply not using them OR their own brains to grow this show.
  22. Bones Season Finale Cliffhanger to Involve ...

All I can tell the writers is this: IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T TRY TO FIX IT!!!!!! Killing off characters is pure writer laziness and would really tick off some of the most devoted fans in the world. You (writers) have the chance to make this a classic TV program, good for a lot more years, if you just use your brains instead of your egos.
  23. Body of Proof Review: Outbreak!

Is it contract renewal time??? Wonder who else will become infected???? Kill off Dani and leave Kate on the edge of death? Sure hope Jere/Kate has a new contract.....obviously Natalie/Dani didn't. Oh....I think Part 2 of this is season finale....so we may not know who dies until next season. Doncha just love the idiots doing the programming?
  24. NCIS Review: The Good Father

Well crafted episode with the spotlight on Vance--admittedly, not one of my favorite characters. Even showing a more humanistic side in this episode, he still has a long way to go to prove he's really a member of the team and not just a weekly pain in the butt. The writers seem to be having a problem balancing out their scripts--maybe they should actually WATCH some of the marathons and see how superb the earlier episodes were and how well balanced they were. As for Abby--love that broad! She doesn't NEED "grownup" clothes--she is who she is and doesn't really give a fig about anyones opinion, other than Gibbs.
  25. Castle Review: I'll Be Brian Dunkleman!

Why is it that writers never seem to learn from either the stupidity of other writers or from their own mistakes? They are screwing with the continuity and character chemistry and they are turning off long time fans. It isn't broken--QUIT TRYING TO FIX IT!!!!! I don't really want to say "I told you so", but I will when this show comes crashing down around the writers ears. Go back to the case being the center of the show, with all of the other stuff around the periphery. Either get Caskett together or quit trying to--why is it so hard to envision a successful detective show where a commited couple solve the cases??? As for Alexis and Martha...both are good for balance and displaying the "other" side of Castle--just get more realistic in the story arcs. LOVE this show and it really grieves me to see the start of collapse.
