BTW, I love this show, and I hope that they do NOT cancel it! Please give us a season 2!! This show is so much better than so many other shows that were renewed!
This was a great episode, and though I was sad to see Evan die, I think, like everyone else, that Evan will be resurected as a supersoldier by Muirfield and he will be brainwashed to go after Vincent and kill him. But I hope that he doesn't try to hunt Catherine instead.
I also hope that next season Catherine gets pregnant with Vincent's child, because you know that everyone is going to wonder if the baby will have beast mutations. Still, it would be a great storyline, and I would also like to see them get married in secret. I am glad that they have the hot guy from Covert Affairs on this show now, but I wish he wasn't such a bad guy. I hope he redeems himself and doesn't harm Cat in the process.
The reviewer said "All of the New York scenes tonight were perfect. All of them. Rachel was totally being Rachel during her audition practice and Shelby swooped in with a save. I love when Lea Michele and Idina Menzel sing together. LOVE. I would lobby for an entire episode of duets with these two if I could."
AMEN to that! I totally agree! I loved the duo of Rachel and her mom singing together, a much better song than Poker Face, btw, and I was thrilled when Rachel sang Don't Stop Believin' with her Glee Club originals.
What I didn't like were the Finn and Puck in college cliches scenes. Bleck. I also think that the new Glee kids aren't outcasts enough, as the originals were. And I missed Joe, Sugar and Sue Slyvester
continued...to live in an American state where your right to kvetch about the American military is protected under law. There are many other places in the world where speaking out against the military would get you jailed, tortured and killed.
BTW, was moved to tears by the final scenes in the cemetery where Steve gave his buddys little girl his dog tags. Amazing stuff. And Alex looks so handsome in uniform!
Also, I loved seeing flashbacks of Steve's SEAL training and Hell Week...I actually know a kid who is becoming a Navy SEAL, and I am in awe of his strength and courage.
I thought this episode was very well written, directed and enacted. I believe that Catherine is a well trained military woman and she wouldn't let Steve go back to retrieve his buddy without her, and I don't blame her, as she knew there were going to be firefights and dangerous situations, and I think she more than held her own out there. And to the ninny who said that the US Military is occupying Hawaii because its another country, you are wrong, Hawaii is one of the states in the United States of America, and as such it has military bases on the islands. They are there because Hawaii is part of America and as such they need to have a military base there to protect American interests. Do you really think that if they weren't there that some other country wouldn't invade and kill half your population? Also, what about your tourist industry? If Hawaii wasn't part of America, tourism would go way down. The fact that you can kvetch about the American military proves that you're fortunate to be a part of America, where you can say what you want without being jailed, tortured and killed for it.
The thing I found the most unbelievable about this episode, which I really enjoyed, BTW, was that Alexis, who is a more practical kind of smart than her dad, gave all her allowance money to some kickstart guy, when she knows she has a limited income as a student and needs to pace her spending. She's always been so logical before this, and now suddenly she's giving away a 'generous' amount of money to some online huckster? Really? And then not having the guts to tell her dad about it, lying to him, just seems out of character for her, too.
I loved this episode, and I need to point out to people who think it is stupid to believe in Bigfoot that there are national societies of bigfoot hunters, there is a TV show that has experts and PhDs on it hunting bigfoots and my own husband, who is a very smart man believes in bigfoot. So does my brother. I don't personally believe in bigfoot, especially in NYC, but I live in Washington state, where there's a lot of forest land, and there are tons of bigfoot sightings every year. So it's not gullible of Castle to believe that sort of thing, any more than it is gullible of Dr Hodgins (TJ Thyne) on Bones to believe in conspiracy theories. Really smart people often need some kind of craziness in their life to lighten up the dark corners.
continued...Lacey told him that she had someone at home to take care of her in that way, and for some reason, Derek didn't take the hint. Why? He was able to give Riley a regular massage when he was first hired. Also, I think that Riley's mom is going to have a big problem if she keeps combining alcohol and pain pills...if you do too much of either, you can end up dead or in a coma. She didn't impress me as being that stupid, to get wasted while she was watching the kids, but apparently I gave her too much credit. Poor Riley can't catch a break for her singing career, can she...just makes me mad that her support system is so weak and that she dumped Evan just when she needs him most.
I agree with Stephanie that Evan is way hotter than Kyle, who really is a scumbag, and he has treated his wife like crap in the past, and will only be worse in the future if she allows him to come home to her and the kids. I honestly think Evan is so much better for Riley and her kids, because he's honorable and kind and not busy working the angles like selfish Kyle.
And I had to laugh at the reviewer's mention of Jlove's bouncing bosom during "Something to Talk About" because though I understand why she did it, I still think it was pretty distracting and detracted from her lovely voice. I am sure most guys wouldn't agree with me on that one. And I am concerned that Selena and Derek are dating and having an affair in secret. Also, I wasn't aware that Derek only gave "sexual" massages, I thought he could give regular massages, too, which was one reason Riley hired him. Why did he assume that Lacey was in need of sexual massage? Not that I would have stopped him, but hey, she told him she has someone at home to take care of her that way, but he didn't take the hint for some reason.
This episode scared the pants off of me, but it was thrilling television to watch. I agree with the reviewer that the topic of school shooting was handled well, and the acting and singing in this episode was superb. I am just not sure why Becky would resort to bringing a gun to school in the first place. That doesn't seem like a logical step for her character, who has always been supremely confident, especially with her inner Helen Mirren voice-overs. And I think that Unique is the one "catfishing" Ryder, and he probably is afraid to show himself as the 'girl' who texted Ryder because Unique knows that Ryder is not gay, and won't return the feeling. BTW, I will miss Jane Lynch's Sue on the show, she's awful but pretty funny
Oh, and I think that Mrs Alex O is right, I think Dante is poised to totally screw Juliette over, take her money, break her heart, etc. Man, was that scene between Dante, Juliette's mom and Juliette painful or what? UGLY stuff.
And I was so glad to see that Gunner is doing better, but I am concerned that the hottie neighbor guy is going to either steal away Scarlet or get Gunner killed with his adrenaline-junkie activities.
And I am totally hacked that Lamar didn't buy the farm! That man needs to die, and die soon, before he makes even more people miserable. I don't care if his wife had an affair, he needs to stop treating his daughter like crap.
dpsmile said "All I have to say is where would Rayna, Juliette, Scarlett, and Gunnar be without Deacon. If it wasn't for Deacon they would all be ALOT worse off. I like Gunnar but it seems like Deacon is everyone's white knight."
AMEN to that, dpsmile! I thought I was the only one who noticed that Deacon comes to the rescue all the freakin' time, and seems to be the one that everyone relies on to do the right thing. I will say, however, that he is also the only one who seems to have slept with all the adult females on the show, and that makes me wonder whether the man just has more testosterone than anyone else, or what makes him such a stud. But still, he also has everyone's back, and that makes me love him despite him being such a hound.
I also think that Teddy deserves that sl*t Peggy, because she's just a creep and a half and I seriously hope that what another commenter said is true, that at least one of his children is actually Deacons. That would serve him right!
I also agree that it would be a huge mistake to turn Kenzi fae. She's just so awesome as she is, I think making her fae would actually hurt her character. But I do like that Hale made it clear that he loves her! Go Hale!
And yes, though it was a cruel fight to the death, I was actually pretty pumped to see Kris H-R without a shirt for an extended period of time...YUM. That man is sizzling hot!
And poor Tamsin! She is having to deal with feelings for Bo, too, which is why she's drinking, because she doesn't want to turn Bo over to the Wanderer. I can't imagine that it is the Druid, but if it is, hmmmmm. Interesting that he was all over Kenzi, wasn't it?
"Dyson and Bo are a better fit. Dyson understood Bo's sexuality whereas Lauren did not. Bo is omnisexual. She needs sex to feed. Lauren knew that Bo needs sex to heal, feed, and charge up. Lauren cannot provide the juice that Bo needs, yet she wants Bo all to herself. Dyson at least understood that."
I agree with Dan, especially in that Dyson understood what it took to help Bo heal and be healthy, whereas Lauren didn't, and Bo suffered for that.I think that Bo will have to get back together with Dyson at some point, because he still LOVES her, for heavens sake, whereas wimpy, LIAR Lauren just chucked the whole relationship to get involved with a lunatic who is killing/driving mad fae for his own purposes. She's supposed to be a doctor but she's so stupid! And she's unattractive, boring and hasn't got much of a spine, so I hope they kill her character off in the season finale.
Interesting ep, especially the banter between Deeks and Kenzi, which is always a favorite of mine. Though I ship them hard, they're still funny and fascinating even when they're not working together. Deeks has just turned into an awesome character who really lightens the whole team. I am always surprised at how 'dark and brooding' they have Callen act, when I think he could be a much more interesting character if he'd let himself have some fun. Oh, and I loved Deeks use of the word "pantaloons" and his reference to hell hounds. And I think that Eric should be featured more, but I was glad Hetty got in a joke, because I just adore her as a character and Linda Hunt as an actress.
I think that Tony and Ziva will get together on this mission to kill Bodner, because you know that is what is going to happen, and Ziva will probably get hurt and Tony will have to help her, and one thing will lead to another...I think they could be good for one another. BTW, Jimmy Palmer irritates the crap out of me, and he always has. He just seems like such a ninny, and he is so lame about everything, even romance, that I want him gone. But I do love that Abby, as usual, has good stuff to bring to the table, I wish that she and McGee would get together. Oh, and I am glad that we got to see a "Gibbs smack" because we haven't seen one for awhile and it was long overdue. And yeah, I thought the neighbor was in on it, too.
I totally agree with the reviewer that Riley shouldn't sacrifice her happiness by being in a loveless relationship with a scumbag drug dealer and abandonment king husband. Kyle is a lost cause. We have seen flashbacks of how abusive he was to Riley even before he abandoned her and his children for a whole year. I think she should divorce him while he's in jail and then take her kids and move into an apartment and develop her relationship with Evan, who has been there for her and her children for over a year. He's also not a scumbag like his brother, and he's not abusive. He treats Riley nicely,(because he loves her) and he's a lot hotter than his brother, too. Her children need to see that their daddy is not a good man, and they need to see their mom happy. Otherwise she will end up resenting them. I also hope that Lacey and her husband end up having a child anyway, despite the odds. I certainly beat the odds when I had a child at age 40! I was told I couldn't have kids.
I think she's a sociopath, personally, and I am glad she has nannies for her children, but still, that whole scene was played so delicately it was beautiful and tragic and full of pathos.
This show has some truly gifted actors and actresses on it. The scriptwriters aren't bad, either.
I think the scene with Mellie and Fitz sort of mirrored the scene with Cyrus and James, because Cyrus was pointing out to the man he loves that he's really mostly angry at himself, because now he realizes that he's capable of deceit and lies and all the things he has accused Cyrus of. He really has sold his soul for love, just as surely as Cyrus sold his soul for power.
I have to say that I agree with the reviewer and with the other commenters in that OMG what an amazing episode! I was GLUED to the screen and I kept yelling at Olivia "DON'T SLEEP WITH HIM, LIV! HE'S A STALKER!" I just think Jake is BAD NEWS all around, and look at how Olivia got hurt trying to escape from him...he's horrible, and I think she needs to tell someone that this guy has a bunch of cameras in her apartment and that he's a creep. She just CANNOT trust him! He is EVIL! Meanwhile, though, I was thrilled that David joined the team, sort of, and I seriously hope he and Abby get back together, because they're good together. And WHY has no one mentioned that during the whole scene with Fitz and Mellie in the oval office when he was telling her the truth of how they met, that she showed him a face full of compassion and she also looked like she could have cared less if she were sold to him...she wanted to be his wife and be the first lady, and she got what she wanted. I think she's a sociopath, personally, and I am glad she has nannys for her children, but still, that whole scene was played so delicately it was beautiful and tragic
I agree with the complaints of shows having too much time inbetween new episodes...it just doesn't make sense to give us one new ep of POI and then make us wait another 3 weeks for the rest of the season! Come on, Network Execs! Don't do this to viewers!
Meanwhile, I loved the way that Finch was in his element, and I really liked the scene where Shaw showed up at their lair and just waltzed over and got Root's information off the board. And then Finch says to Bear "Traitor!" LOL
I also agree with the person who said that Jim Caveziel can express more with one look than most actors can in an entire hour! He is just amazing, and I think this show has some really twisty plots and conspiracies, yet manages to be very entertaining even for those of us who aren't into computers or spies.
BTW, I also don't think Diggle gets his due, when he has saved Oliver's green hooded butt more often than I can count. I hope Oli will help Diggle catch the guy he wants to kill, and I also hope that Oli's sister "Speedy" will end up with that hottie guy from the Glades. They had major chemistry.
I think that no one is giving Felicity her due here when you all think that she's too delicate to take on a war of words with Oliver. Yes, he does get kind of snippy with her, but she snips right back, and she KNOWS that he needs her and that she's smarter than he is, I think that she's just waiting for her moment to show him that she's able to be a super hero too. I also think there is a bit of sexual tension between them, and I don't think that Oliver likes that, so I think he reacts that way to her to keep himself from making a move on her. I don't think he and Lauren are going to be getting together for awhile, because I think she is still hung up with Tommy, who is going to the dark side with that delicious John Barrowman!
Oh, and I have to say that though Rayna's two girls are adorable and can sing beautifully, I agree with Rayna in not wanting them to become involved in the music business until they are adults, at least out of high school. Seriously, show biz is a rough place for kids, and it has messed up a lot of young lives (you only have to read the memoirs of some former child stars and child music stars to see how it can totally ruin their life) so I hope that the girls listen to Rayna and not to Juliette and stay home and in school until they are much older. Also, I think it is a huge mistake for Juliette to sleep with her mothers sober companion, and I gather that he's enough of a jerk to sleep with her mother, too. EW. Juliette seems to take two steps forward and three steps back, which is a shame. And I hope Avery gets lost, he is a jerk and a creep.
Sam Sam, no you are not the only one who wants to hurl every time we see Peggy the skeevy b*tch come around to evil slimebag Teddy's house. They're so disgusting and vile, they deserve each other. And I, too, hope that Lamar bites it...that man is the devil incarnate. I hope that if he is too evil to die that he's had a stroke that lands him in a wheelchair with aphasia, so he can't speak and can only sit inside his decaying body without being able to voice his vituperation. Karma should fix his wagon!
But I have to say that I enjoyed most of the rest of the show, except what the heck is it that make Deacon such a hound that he sleeps with all the major female players on the show? I don't actually believe he can be monogamous, especially since he didn't even tell the vet that he'd already slept with Rayna and Juliette and every other female over the age of 20 in Nashville. Sheez!
Hey, what about "Trask, you were so machine-like, so cold and robotic, I bet this character only used one-fifth of Burn Gorman's talent, so ably displayed on TORCHWOOD"? The thing about Burn Gorman on Torchwood was that he was a sex-maniac doctor with a very dry sense of humor and a gruff exterior. He goes from that to playing this cold and unfeeling robotic member of the Initiative who dies after only appearing a couple of times. What a waste of talent!
Still, I am glad that Padma is gone (What? I can't stand weak-kneed women who constantly look to men to save their arses, or their family's arse) and now hopefully glorious Nolan can get on with helping dear Ems take down the Graysons!
