  1. TV Fanatic Staff Round Table: Save Our Shows!

    I gotta say cougar town.
I would say Community but lately the quality has dropped to the point where I would rather it just stop to preserve the memory of how awesome it was when it first started than to further mar its name by the over-the-top junk it has been putting out.
BUT i will reserve my final opinion on that matter until i see the second half of season 3

and is the poll not working for anyone else
  2. NBC Announces Return Date for Community, New Spring Schedule

nice to have it back...but ill be sad to see parks go
  3. Parks and Recreation Review: Not So Super Sweet Sixteen

I completely agree with the Ann-tom relationship. It was kinda cute/cool to see them together on valentines day, but now they are just flat out annoying. I was about to hop in that bottle April just to get through the episode. If they do stay together (which i sincerely hope they dont) their relationship should never be featured as prominently as it was last night.
Other than that i thought it was a pretty average episode. Though i did miss Ben, he easily became one of my favorite characters
  4. The Office Review: She's Bugging Me

I have to disagree I rather like darryl. It is kinda obvious that they are grooming him to be the new Jim. And they are trying to make him and Val the "new" new jim and pam (after the "new" jim and pam...andy and erin pretty much failed). And while his story this week wasnt that great i look forward to better stories with him down the line.
I was disappointed that there was no creed. His one-liners/little bits are about the funniest of all the secondary staff (i think he is WAY funnier than kevin) and I think they could have used for the back in scranton. But I will agree with you with the fact that there is not really anybody to construct a story around left in scranton. The Darryl story definitely did not develop as well as it couldve/wouldve if Jim, Dwight, or even Michael was back in scranton.
But all in all i still thought it was a good episode
  5. Royal Pains Season Finale Review: 50/50

I was never that big a fan of this show always thought the chemistry of the actors was rather sub-par and never really liked the over "Hollywood-ization" of the action/medical scenes but being a sucker for medical shows i got sucked in.
    I completely agree with @bigi and @bagpipemouse
It's getting annoying to keep see Hank and evan keep fighting when the obvious solution is a simple compromise.
Also i think Evan and Vandyke will make a fine team. Once they work out the initial kinks they will be fine.
  6. The Office Review: I'm Not Bored. I'm A Pirate.

the dwight/appendicitis/post-op bit went on WAY to long and wasnt that funny to begin with.
I really just want to see how the Jim and pam's replacement arc plays out
  7. The Big Bang Theory Review: A Painting and Basketball

maybe its just me but is anybody else getting tired of Amy especially with the whole Amy loves Penny thing
  8. Who Will Die on Community?

I dont think it would be Duncan, i feel like he is funny enough and too much of noticeable face for them to want to kill him off (unless of course he made the decision to leave)
The people that spring to mind for me are Garret, Magnitude, or Star-burns
If i was a betting man id say they are gonna kill Garret, (with star-burns a close second)

...Though i wouldnt mind (/borderline glad) if they killed off the cartoon Britta has become
  9. House Review: Fault Lines

    @alex
"Do you guys not pay attention to the medical aspect of the show?"

To put it simply NO. As long as they dont do something that the average "non-medical" person would obviously know its wrong, like having a pregnant women drink a fifth of Everclear or telling a patgient a sock is a good enough contraceptive, most viewers wont really care.

so give yourself a pat on the back for noticing the inconsistencies but you must know that the vast majority of viewers dont and/or wont really care
  10. House Review: Fault Lines

    I could be crazy but.....
Did anybody else interpret the whole "They decided that you being stabbed was nobody's fault...... They're wrong...... I'm sorry."
As House agreeing with Cofield's (and Taub's) previous thought that it was Chase's own fault for bringing the scalpel near a patient who might have a psychotic break. Meaning it was Chase's fault and that House was sorry for having to fire him for disobeying him/endangering himself/adams/the patient.
b/c i couldn't tell if Chase's attitude after the "I'm sorry"/stare down was due to the fact that House actually gave a (maybe unwarranted)apology, or the fact that he just got fired.
  11. How I Met Your Mother Review: Was It Gouda For You?

sorry but i gotta utterly disagree with the reviewer. This episode felt more like filler to me. I thought that the multiple timeline bit was phoned-in and wasnt that great. And i didntg think that the stories within the timelines were that great either. To put it simply it was AVERAGE.....at best. Which is why i was shocked by such a raving review/rating
I dont think this episode was really that memorable and just from this season alone i think that Ducky Tie and Tick Tick Tick are EASILY enormously better than this filler episode.
And I have been a fan since season 1 too, but i will freely admit that after season 3 imho the quality/awesomeness of this show did start to slowly go down. BUT I will say that overall i think this season has been on an upward trend back to its original awesomeness.
  12. House of Lies Review: When In Rome Bitches

this wasnt a good episode at all
while most of the stereotypical/crass things you mentioned weren't my favorite part of the episode they didnt bother me that much. except i actually did find the whole "technical virgin" thing funny
My main issue is i think that they are making Marty out to be to big of a dick.
The way he kept yelling t Jeannie was pretty harsh, especially given the fact that they already said that the company was in pristine shape and didnt really need consulting to begin with.
This was just an overall a pretty bad episode for me
  13. Burn Notice Season Finale Review: Never Saw This Coming

I actually dont think there was that much more to Sam's apology
I think it all has to do with the fact that Sam was acknowledging and apologizing for the SERIOUS repercussions to his "mistake." (i.e. that Fiona is pretty much going away for life). the awkward sorry may have been because he may have let Fiona overpower him, instead of he said she tricked him but i think that is all it has to do with.
  14. House of Lies Review: What Would Clooney Do?

i like the show and i hope it stays around for awhile. I still have two issues with it though:
the chemistry between the characters is getting better but i still think it needs a some work and i want to see more scenes that highlight the group dynamic and feature all four together.
and they have to find a way to make the case of the week more interesting/memorable because these easy "everything just falls into place the first time and practically solve themselves" cases arent the least bit entertaining.
  15. House of Lies Review: Winter's Bone

Just started watching this and overall i like this show. I like the production and feel of the show. The premise and "case of the week" could be executed a bit better but i think for a new show finding its footing they are doing adequate.
my only main issue is that i dont think the cast has much chemistry yet. As youve said the chemistry between the cast will make or break the show. And i dont think that overall they have a good enough rapport to make the show yet.
Another thing is they really need to explain the relationship btwn him and his father. If he was just kind of cold to him i would let it slide until whenever they decided to explain it but imo he is WAY to hostile to his dad for them not to explain it sooner rather than later.
And i dont really mind when the break the 4th wall b/c i see it as more of a comedic device than a story-telling one.
  16. New Girl Review: Party Bus!

really liked the episode. Not "THAT" big fan of the show yet, but a few more episodes like this and it'll have won me over.
is it just me or is Nick starting to annoy anybody else. Schmidt may be the resident douchebag but Nick is becoming the resident dick. I got that he was impress/be perfect for his date/gf but i still think he was too harsh, the line between poking fun and being a dick is blurred but i think for most of the episode he was clearly on the "being a dick" side

just wanted to add David Neher is making his rounds on the sitcom circuit this is like his 4 guest spot in like 2 months. imo his community spot was the best one
  17. How I Met Your Mother Review: Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

For the most part liked the episode. Thought it was pretty good, wasnt exactly a top [insert ranking here] episode but wasnt that bad either.
but wasnt a fan of the Robin/Kevin "relationship chicken" bit... thought it got old fast... and by "got old fast" i mean the first time it was mildly entertaining and after that they were pretty much beating a dead horse
  18. Leverage Season Finale Review: Send In The Backups

I thought this episode was great. i think they did a good job of balancing everything. Except maybe the conclusion, i thought it felt a little rushed. And i didnt particularly like the whole cliff-side scene. Thought it felt a little cheesy. But overall I still loved the episode
I also liked Eliot's scene with Nate. Eliot scenes where he opens and he really voices his opinions/perspectives are easily my favorite scenes in the series. B/c the big difference btwn Eliot and the rest of them is that he actually has hurt people. And to go from that to helping ppl is a big shift, something they referenced a couple times but i would love to see them go into more detail and give him more screen time(rather than another hardison/hardison-parker storyline). The internal and external conflicts of his past life/experiences and current life make him one of the more complex and interesting characters.
All in all thought the past 2 episodes have been great end to a somewhat lackluster season
  19. HIMYM Creator Ponders: Who Should Play the Mother?

It definitely should not be Jennifer aniston or any other A-list celeb. b/c they would bring too many preconceived notions with them that would pretty much destroy the "mystique of the mother"
But yea i agree with Mila Kunis i think she would be good or a Mila kunis-type of character Gorgeous but still has that sweet girl-next-door feel.
I even think the college student roommate girl Ted was with a while back would have been a good fit for the mother.
Though i dont like Zooey deschanel she is a little too far on the quirky/a-dork-able side of the spectrum
  20. Bones Review: Death Goes Digital

It thought it was a pretty good episode, not quite 5-star quality but a solid 4.5.
I do wish they stretched the case out a bit more, particularly the reveal that the hacker was the mastermind like how they did Gormogon way back when. For a second i even thought Addy might make an appearance.

It definitely rubbed me the wrong way when Brennan kept harping "he cant be smarter than man, no ones smarter than me." No offense but get over yourself. Yes you're a damn good forensic anthropologist but that doesnt automatically make you the smartest person alive
  21. 2 Broke Girls Creator Clashes with Reporters Over Sitcom Tone, Humor

I have no problem with raunchy, crass, and/or stereotypical jokes. BUT this show just isnt funny. All they do is string together a bunch of cheap hack-like "could see the over-used punchline from a mile away " bits together with something that barely resembles a storyline and let it run wild for 30 min. The acting is bad, the story is bad, the only saving grace is that the two girls have "some" chemistry (though, imho NO WHERE NEAR the amount some ppl credit them with, i think ppl simply exemplify this trait b/c the show pretty much has nothing else) Take The league for example, They do raunchy and crass material all the time, but the big difference is that The league is ACTUALLY FUNNY
  22. Leverage Review: A Father's Love

I actually saw the whole Victor thing coming. The warehouse setup gave it away for me. It was toooo similar to how it played out in the pilot. I even think that was the same warehouse they used in the pilot.
I REFUSE to believe that ANYBODY, let alone a trained emt/paramedic would be stupid enough to mistake someone pouring a bottle of water on the ground for a pregnant women breaking water. That is BEYOND absurd
Normally i dont nit-pick these things. The only time i think its "acceptable" is if something "clearly" goes against someone's established character, or is "obviously" just sloppy writing but this was WAY too hard for me to believe
    ...anyway...
I definitely think it was one of if not the best episode of the season. It actually focused on the job, which are my favorite types of episodes, something they have been moving away from lately. But its not really one of my all-time favorite episodes
    all-in-all 4.25/5
  23. NBC President on Community: Not Cancelled!

...just hope when it comes back it self-corrects and gets back to its "season 1-esque" awesomeness
  24. How I Met Your Mother Review: Beers In Heaven

Both the puzzles and the lily's dad thing were down before. (Puzzle's in 3 days of snow and the whole "person hangs up the phone so you think they blew you off but unbeknownst to you they are actually running to be by your side" was done with Barney when Ted got in the accident, i think it was miracles). Dont get me wrong i dont have a problem with them recycling bits, but if you are going to reuse a bit AT LEAST change it up and give a different take. Both of these were pretty much exact LESS FUNNY rehashings of those bits.
  25. Leverage Review: A Double Prong Monkey Con

"I’m sure I’m not alone in my growing frustration with Leverage turning into the “Hardison Show.”"
I really thought i was the only one feeling this way. I 100% agree with everything you said about hardison.

As for the episode as a whole it was pretty much another episode in which the actual job took a back seat to the characters' stories, something that i dont particularly like and something that is happening a little too frequent for my taste
    3/5
