Hetty gets shot, but I doubt she is dead, haven't read a peep about the amazing Linda Hunt leaving the show. Looking forward to this ep, and the upcoming season! Lots of secrets revealed.
I thought it was a good finale, but it felt a bit rushed to me. Some parts I found very predictable, but I was definitely surprised at the reveal about EJ being SecNav's niece. Not my favorite finale by far, but I'll still be tuning in next season to see what happens next! And add me to the list of viewers who don't really care if we see EJ again (except as a baddie, but again, that's probably too easy).
I thought it was a fantastic finale, from start to finish. My only (very few) quibbles were tiny technicalities, certainly not enough to diminish my interest. For every layer the writers peel back on Hetty, they add a fresh one. Love it! I have no doubt (crossing fingers) that Hetty will be back amongst her fold where she belongs, early next season. I have to say, I love both NCIS shows, but I enjoyed LA's finale better than the original.
Another great ep, this show never fails to disappoint me! Loved the humor woven into the case, and of course the added mystery of Hetty's sudden resignation (and I'm confident we haven't seen the last of her, loved her pulling a fast one on her would-be muggers, in Prague!) Can't wait to see what else next week's ep has in store!
Loved seeing a deeper layer to Deeks! Liked his friend Ray, wouldn't mind seeing him pop up again; and yeah, I was totally fooled (and devastated) by his 2nd "death", too! Can't wait to see what else is in store for us.
Claire Forlani is part of an ensemble cast of another show, so I doubt she will be a permanent addition to NCIS LA. The NCIS writers are well known for their WTF? type cliffhangers, so I have a feeling this will be one of them. Hopefully my beloved Hetty will be safe and sound next season, right where she should be (hopefully Linda Hunt isn't asking to leave the show, because then it's a moot point). I'm not going to get up in arms about it, I doubt Hetty is being replaced for good. Just an end of seasn shake up, to keep us guessing over the summer...
Another fantastic episode from one of my favorite shows! A few great twists and turns (wasn't expecting that swimming pool/explosion scene)! The team definitely had Kensi's back, Hetty was (as always!) a few steps ahead, and the ending scene was great, right down to the offscreen beer burp. :)
I loved Louise on CSI, I wish they would have kept her on! Looking very much forward to seeing her return - but, like Alithea Sexton said above, I don't like the idea of she and Langston clashing, which it sounds like they might. I'd much rather see them hit it off.
I thought it was a great ep, and more realistic that the case was never all tied up with a pretty bow, at the end. And I *loved* the end, when Deeks shot the Hetty head. Great laugh-out-loud scene!
I don't want them to kill off any of the regulars, including Vance - he's by far my fave of all the directors, and he keeps Gibbs in line once in awhile (which he sorely needs, IMO). Don't like the new woman EJ, it feels like she's up to something, and it's no good. Is she playing Tony, or is he playing her?
It takes a new series awhile to hit it's stride, especially when it's a spinoff and will inevitably be compared to the beloved originals, by fans (think the CSI spinoffs and the new NCIS LA). I have hopes for this show, and I already see improvements. I'm looking forward to seeing it continue to evolve.
Great review, Steve! I enjoyed this episode, I think this show just keeps getting better. I also loved that Sam hesitated at the end, to make sure he was doing it for the right reasons - and that Callen completely understood. Shows what kind of agents - and men - they are. Loved seeing Nate again, too!
Not their best ep, but I still enjoyed it. Loved McGee's line at the end, begging Gibbs not to shoot the computer. And it was refreshing to see Tony be nice to McGee (also good to see McGee acknowledge it). Loved seeing Beth guest on the show, but I kept expecting her to be "Parker"... (adore her on Leverage!)
Fantastic ep! Loved getting more insight into Deeks. Nice to see Kensi show her soft side with him, she's caring about him not just as a partner, but as a person.
Also loved that Hetty told him to put her down as his next of kin. Great rapport between those two.
Finally, I'm sure Sam is really going to enjoy updating Deeks on his security protocol!
Excellent ep, lots of twists & turns that I didn't see coming. Yeah, the firefight was OTT, but beautifully done IMO, fun to watch (enjoyed the music choice in background, too). Liked the parallel bits with Sam/Callen & Deeks/Kensi discussing their differing views on Partnership.
To Harriet Miller, you said re: Vance "No one likes him & we love Gibbs." Please don't presume to speak for everyone. Many fans, including myself, like Vance. Gibbs needs reigning in once in awhile, and I think Vance does a pretty good job of it. He also has to worry about the political end of things - something that Gibbs sometimes doesn't consider nearly enough.
Overall, pretty decent ep. (And I think McGee looks great with the weight loss, don't think he looks sickly, we're just used to seeing more weight on his round face).
