If this show allowed a Suck... hehe get it, Serena Chuck, union, this show might as well be called "All in the Family." Isn't the rule that you divorce the husband, not the child?
While not a blood union, it's still kind of icky, isn't it? Much like Derena whose parents are still together.
I think Serena would get more backlash from fandoms just for that.
Awe.... I do miss Jate. They seemed like they would be a fun couple, but Chace Crawford's role is now the bystander to eye candy and to sleep with every female guest star, and apparently (a la Dan's book) one male one, that signs up for Gossip Girl.
While I supported a Dair union, but that was during Season 4. I said it before and I said it again, this is ridick. I mean, seriously? Dan sent the video in? What? It's clear that it's the plot device that will be used to bring Blair back to Chuck.
This is crap. Writers, you suck. lol
And I'm not saying two wrongs make a right here, but has Serena come down with a case with selective amnesia? Blair kissed Dan, who by the way is a free agent, yet she slept with Nate, who was Blair's boyfriend. Isn't that the kettle calling the pot hypocrite?
6. Did Dan send the blast? Will that come back to bite him?
I'm hoping Dan didn't do it because that will not only destroy his character but any longevity that DAIR may have. Then again, another bait-and-switch is more likely...
3. Which Blair excuse for rejecting Chuck is worse, the pact with God or last night's ... whatever that was?
I just wish they made a decision already. Although I'm not a proponent of CHAIR, I think this waterboarding they call a storyline is unfair to the union's fans. Either have them together, or don't. This constant back and forth is ridiculous. One minute they're together, one minute they're not, it's kind of torture. Whether or not CHAIR is endgame, just tell the story, not this constant back and forth. If you're going to let DAIR happen, then let it, if it's going to be CHAIR, then let it happen, GG only has season 6 left to tie up all the loose ends.
Super awesome, though this constant bait-and-switch and the whole circumstances culminating around them makes their union come about so bittersweetly. Give me season 4 DAIR because season 5 DAIR is one heightened mess after another. Though, I am glad that Dan was able to voice out that he isn't some doormat. Yay.
Though I would have to say best quote of the night, "You're right. Been lying the whole time. Caught me. My DVR is empty. Honestly I could keep this up for hours, but I'm a mommy now and my mommy and me group is much for fun to mess with. Okay bye."
I'm holding reservation until the episode airs. Fool me once with that bait and switch you all pulled when DAIR's first kiss was off-screen, shame on you, fool me twice with this promo pic, shame on me.
Really Dan? How disappointing. I think I'll go back to watching season 4 DAIR, cause this is getting more and more ridiculous.
Let's see if Lola ends up being Gossip Girl. Or you know what, have Nate be Gossip Girl. We can stretch that seeing Blair and Chuck crash Princess Diana style made him stop cold turkey... right?
This is also getting pretty re-dick for CHAIR fans too. It's like visual waterboarding. How many times can those two go into circles already? Aren't they dizzy?
It was the groan heard round the world... seriously? She's back?? Ugh. To be honest, I actually liked her character, liked how she conned and ensured her place in the Rhodes family and yet... after all that time and energy spent on securing her place, she breaks down and confesses it all to Rufus?
She's supposed to be an actress right? Where's the emotional control?
Somewhere out there, Max is snickering. I mean come on... Ivy let that weasel win? ......disappointed.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Dair interaction at the latter half of season 4. It was disappointing that season 5 had been this manfactured triangle between all three.
If Dair happens, I'll be okay with it, though I'd be happier had it evolved from how season 4 ended as opposed to this Louis fiasco.
The wrtiers seriously have ADD when it comes to developing their SLs. The whole DAIR/CHAIR debate is just their latest casualty.
If you strip away their individual histories with George and Cristina, respectively, the pairing does make sense. Callie has always wanted a big family. It's what attracted her to George because family was everything to George. In regards to Owen, he always "envisioned" himself a life with kids, being married, being a family man. It's hard to see those two because there's this inherent bias of what we know of Callie and Owen from the prime universe.
Seeing a particular ending or a point in someone's future wihtout the history that builds up to it always leaves questions of the how and why. Not that I would pursue a telling of that story, but I wouldn't oppose it either way.
Say what you will about SR, I think she tells great stories.
This episode, at least for me, highlighted that your pain and your crap that you go through are just as important, if not defining, of who you are and how you deal with life.
If Meredith grew up in a wonderful home, she wouldn't have the desire to help people as prime-Meredith does. Remember the proposal in the elevator? What Derek said about Meredith pushing people, that her dark and twisty isn't a character flaw, but a character strength.
Meredith has always been the glue to the group because of her experiences. Rallying the group behind Izzie, providing George friendship, sticking by Alex, and finding a soulmate in Cristina.
It was only after things got crappy for alt-Meredith that allowed her to deal with the situation as prime-Meredith would have.
So me? I loved this episode. And YES to the music, Tegan and Sara!!
