Wow. That happened! 

The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 7 was a pulse-pounding hour that will go down as one of the series' finest. 

It's rare for a decade-old show to be delivering such a level of quality, but the paranoia surrounding the Whisperers has helped elevate the angst to give us a cold war-esque vibe. 

In hindsight, we should have seen the Dante development coming. The show has remixed some of the plots from comic book at times, and that was another brilliant instance.

Dante was too nice. He was charming and full of smiles. He was the complete opposite of any other Whisperers we've had the displeasure of meeting.

Dante built a strong bond with Siddiq, and it seemed like Dante genuinely cared about Siddiq's well being, especially after the PTSD from the massacre came back to haunt Saddiq for the umpteenth time. 

It even crossed my mind that Dante had romantic feelings for Siddiq. There was a certain way Dante looked at Siddiq, almost like he understood what Siddiq was going through, and now we know why. 

Aaron: Don't do this. It isn't you.
Gamma: You have no idea who I am.

Siddiq had survivor's guilt. He witnessed Alpha butchering his people, yet he got to live to tell the tale. His journey has been harrowing, but seeing how that event could affect someone mentally has been one of the best storylines in ages. 

The last thing I expected to happen was for Dante to murder Siddiq in cold blood. I'm still trying to piece the puzzle together, but I'm guessing Alpha only told certain Whisperers about Dante's covert mission. 

At the very least, that would explain why the Whisperer Carol brought in was killed, and his death pinned on Siddiq for making errors due to his lack of sleep. 

It's likely the Alexandrians are being killed because Gamma has been messing with the water supply and pouring walker guts into it. And Dante was probably not giving everyone medication to fight the infection. 

Carol: Your mother told her people she killed you.
Lydia: You said you wanted my help.
Carol: I did.
Lydia: You used me.
Carol: Lydia, I'm sorry.
Lydia: You're just like her.
Aaron: Lydia.
Lydia: You said you wanted me to choose a side. I choose mine.
Carol: You can't go out there. It's too dangerous.
Lydia: You can't stop me.

Alpha wants everyone to be weak when she inevitably take the horde to Alexandria for an all-you-can-eat buffet. She's planning her moves strategically to make sure she has all of her bases covered. 

There has to be a good explanation for Dante's part in all of it because Lydia has not batted an eyelid, leading me to believe that she never got to meet Dante, either. 

Is it possible that there are two sets of Whisperers? That would be the only logical way to explain what's happening.

For now, Dante has to decide what to do about Siddiq's body. Making it look like a suicide by hanging would work because he has visibly been struggling for a long time. 

Rosita picked up on it and had to literally jump into the lake to prevent him from drowning himself. Alexandria is going to get rocked by the death, but Rosita will take it much harder. 

Wait, they could be watching.

Siddiq was her lover and the father of her child. What will she do now that he's gone? We know Rosita's portrayer, Christian Serratos, is leading the cast of Netflix's Selena. Could she be the next to die? 

Then there's Eugene. Siddiq has been his love rival for a while now. Will he swoop in and try to woo Rosita while she's struggling to pick up the pieces?

Siddiq's death is not only going to rock Rosita, but it's also going to rock the survivors as a whole. He strived to keep everyone safe, and people are going to feel guilty for not realizing there was something wrong sooner. 

Then there's the Lydia of it all. Carol wanted to use Lydia being alive as something she could wave in the face of the other Whisperers. She wanted them to crumble under Alpha's rule, and Lydia being alive was going to cause division. 

Gamma was slowly becoming enamored with Aaron's stories, but every single time she returned to Whisperer territory, Alpha's emotional abuse came out to play to tell her followers the Alexandrian way of life was just a pipe dream. 

Now Gamma knows that her fearless leader is hiding things, but what will she do with the information? Will she hotfoot it to Alexandria, or will she plot her escape in silence? 

Without hard evidence, the other Whisperers are not going to believe her. That could be where Negan comes into it. His purpose in the Whisperer arc is increasing, and while he's likely angry at everyone in Alexandria, he's going to smite Alpha when he gets the chance. 

If Negan confirms Lydia is alive, when it inevitably comes out, there will be hell to pay. That could be how the battle with the Whisperers gets underway. 

You ignore the truth when it's staring you in the face. I would never betray Alpha.

For so long, we've feared the day our heroes went to war with Whisperers, but it would be far more satisfying if they imploded all on their own as a result of Alpha's lies. 

Then there's the possibility that Lydia could stroll back into Whisperer territory. Alpha doesn't show emotion, but it would be a must-see moment if her daughter returned. 

Carol was ruthless, but she didn't want to take any chances. If there's a chance to bite the people who took Henry from her, she's taking it. 

The issue with Carol is that she did it without telling Lydia the details. She claimed she needed Lydia's help, but all she really wanted was to get one over on Alpha. 

That will create more conflict for Caryl. Daryl has been desperately trying to bite his tongue so that he and Carol don't fall out over her actions, but he's not going to be able to forgive her for not taking Lydia back. 

As we look towards the midseason finale, there is so much uncertainty and paranoia that it's not easy to predict what's coming. The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 8 is the final episode of 2019. 

There's going to be a hell of a twist to keep us wondering what's going to happen.
