Elliot and Darlene should be very worried.
On Mr. Robot Season 4 Episode 5, they pulled off their most daring mission to date, and they are now in the crosshairs of Dark Army.
The brother and sister were front and center on "Method Not Allowed." Every single time it seemed like the mission was concluding, something else popped up. It was exhilarating from start to finish.
Elliot is slowly but surely letting his emotions come back to the forefront. He puts on a brave face, but Tyrell's death had a much more significant effect on him than he would like anyone to believe.
If you watch Mr. Robot online, you know that Elliot has been at odds with most of the characters of late. The pressure is mounting now that his use to Whiterose is diminishing.
He knows that he and Darlene could be murdered at any moment, and that's not something he's taking lightly. He's been harsher than usual with his sister because he knows the end of the line is approaching.
But Darlene saved him multiple times during this installment, and he realized by the end that he could not have carried the dangerous mission out without her.
The way he put his hand on her hand as she sped out of New York after he almost died was telling. They may be at odds, but that sibling bond is not going anywhere.
It's time we talk.Vera
Elliot would sacrifice himself to save her life, and Darlene would do the same. Even when they're at odds, they still try to look out for each other, and that's what it should be like.
The massive chase throughout New York was harrowing. Whenever Elliot got a break, the cops who were pursuing him showed up again. It was painful to watch because there's no telling what could happen to the characters now.
Elliot is smart, and he knew the only way out of the building was to make a run for it because both he and Darlene were at risk of being detained.
It was do or die time, and if the law had caught them, they would have very likely been murdered by Dark Army soon after. They are both going to be wanted criminals now that Dark Army knows it was them that carried out the latest hack.
It certainly raises questions about where we go from here. We have eight episodes left, so there's still a lot of story to tell. Given that the Deus meeting is looming, we're probably going to move away from the holiday theme very soon.
Dom is in a tough spot because she's telling herself she hates Darlene, but then she was masturbating while watching the interviews.
Dark Army knows who was responsible for the death of one of their own, and they'll put two and two together quickly to understand what's going on.
It's cool, dude. We don't have to talk.Darlene
Dom was unhappy even before Darlene used swiped her FBI card, but Darlene's actions have put her family's lives at stake. Dom knows Dark Army have been cleaning up after themselves, so the moment they no longer need her, she'll disappear.
But would Dom put Darlene in the firing line? Surely she'll be able to find a way to get her family to safety if she really wanted to save Darlene.
Deep down, there's a connection between these two women, but with there no telling whether either of them will survive this, it's difficult to speculate what's about to go down.
There had to be some significance to Krista's reappearance. Like Elliot, she has some issues of her own, but she also wants to move on with her life.
She was desperate to have an excellent first Christmas with the new man in her life. He was set to meet her parents for the first time, and the man was nervous. What if they hated him?
That's why Krista opted to stay in and make Christmas dinner for the two of them. It was obvious Vera was going to pop up out of the darkness, but this particular storyline is starting to drag.
Vera only appears in Snapchat-like small segments here and there. We know he wants to work with Elliot, but beyond that, there's a lot of information we're not privy to.
He knows that Elliot has a connection with Krista, and he's going to manipulate that to get Elliot back under his thumb.
With Elliot and Darlene fleeing the city, Elliot will rush back in a New York minute if there's a way to repair his relationship with his former therapist.
Darlene is not going to want to return to save someone that she does not work with. That's a no go, so look for the siblings to bicker about that.
"Method Not Allowed" was excellent. The cinematography was on top form once again. Sam Esmail is a genius who is delivering a unique series every single week.
What did you think of all the action?
Who do you think will die next?
