The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 3 Review: Les Fleurs Du Mal

at .

Out of everything that happened on The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 3, Aram giving his best James Bond impression was the best.

He hasn't done much this season (and, yes, it's still early), but him getting out in the field again as an undercover lover of the macabre was Aram at his best.

A New Romance - The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 3

We've seen so much happen with his character. His early days in the field were awkward. Then we had his situation with Samar.

Now, he grown.

He has no fear. He didn't doubt himself when trying to save Mrs. Radcliffe.

He knew what he had to do. He took a sip of champagne and did his James Bond thing.

It was the most awesome thing ever.

Everything he's gone through with Samar from almost losing her when she was kidnapped to losing her when she went away prepared Aram for this moment.

A Kiss - The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 3

If he was able to survive all that and all those complicated feelings, he could survive anything.

Plus, it was almost shocking that he decided to pursue Mrs. Radcliffe in his Aram-type of way.

The old Aram wouldn't have done anything like that. But this new and improved Aram took the bull by the horns.

He didn't make any presumptions with Mrs. Radcliffe, but he decided to jump in the deep end of the pool to see what happened.

And he got a very pleasant surprise.

It might seem early for him to be delving into romance so soon after Samar, but she left him. Is he supposed to sit around and mope for the rest of his life?

The Bad Guy - The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 3

Good for him that he decided to put himself back on the market.

And we need more Aram in the field. Liz and Ressler doing all the work is great, but they're boring FBI agents.

Aram has some special spice which makes things interesting.

Bedtime Story - The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 3

Interesting doesn't even begin to describe the situation involving Katarina living next door to Liz.

The most bothersome thing about it is that Liz hasn't even mentioned to Red -- or anyone else -- about this new neighbor.

I might have mentioned it in The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 2 review, but wouldn't that be something she might tell someone, especially considering everything that happened with Dom?

It doesn't make any sense that she hasn't said a word about this stranger living next door to her.

And to top it off, she let the woman in her home AND let her read a story to Agnes.

Admiration - The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 3

Who does that with someone you just met and don't know.

You'd think with everything Liz has been through in her life and all the weirdness associated with it that she'd be a bit more cautious when it comes to strangers.

Even if she wouldn't think to mention this woman to Red, she still should have mentioned her to Aram or Ressler. They were helping her find a nanny.

And it seems (I could be wrong) that Liz might be considering Katarina as a babysitter when she's in a tight spot.

Did you notice how admiringly she looked on as Katarina read to Agnes? That's the look of a mother weighing her options.

Liz hardly ever makes the right decisions, and just as we think she's changed her ways, she goes back to being the Liz of old.

Outside Party - The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 3

My guess is that Katarina has a layered plan.

She wants to get close to Liz because she's her daughter. She also wants to get to know Agnes.

But she also wants to position herself so that when Liz does find out who Katarina is, she might have to choose between her mother and her father.

That would be the ultimate battle, wouldn't it? The battle of the separated parents for the favor of their child?

Aram being a Badass - The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 3

Knowing Liz, she won't be able to make a choice even if one of them gives her an ultimatum.

It might even come to a point where she has to choose a side based on life or death.

The other part of Katarina's positioning is because she wants to find out information which is why she bugged Liz's apartment.

She wants to be one step ahead of Red and bugging Liz's place is the best way to do it.

At some point, Red is going to visit Liz, and Katarina is going to hear sensitive information.

What would be even better is if Red came over and happened to find Katarina in Liz's place. Or, bumped into her in the hallway.

Talking to Red - The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 3

Wouldn't that be an exciting turn of events? Can you imagine how it would turn out?

Would they play it off like they didn't know each other? Would Red move Liz out of her apartment?

It's going to be exciting to see how it all turns out.

Francesca is turning out to be something more than she's been pretending.

Katarina Makes a Move - The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 3

I don't know what it means that she's been lying to Red, but there's definitely something up with that.

Why would she lie about having a husband?

And if she did feel the need to lie to Red, why was she helping him?

I still don't trust her, but it doesn't seem she's working for Katarina.

If she were, she would have been feeding information to Katarina. We would have seen it by now.

So, what she's up to is anyone's guess at this point. At least Red knows she's lying and will get to the bottom of it.

As far as the case, it was bizarre. It makes you wonder if there are clubs like that in the world for bored people who want to add macabre entertainment to their lives.

Making a Deal - The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 3

The guy who played Prackett reminded me of a taller version of Gary Oldman. Am I the only one?

Over to you!

What did you think of "Les Fleurs Du Mal"?

Will Red learn about Katarina living next door to Liz?

What's Francesca's secret?

Are you impressed with Aram?

Are you happy he found love?
