It's been a long road to the screen for The Crown Season 3, and we now know when the wait will be over.

Netflix has confirmed that the series will make a royal return to the streaming service Sunday, November 17.

All episodes will be available on that date, meaning the wait between seasons will have been 23 months.

Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth

What's more, there are some big changes on the horizon for the series. Olivia Colman is taking over Claire Foy's role, while Outlander's Tobias Menzies is assuming the role of Prince Philip, taking over from Matt Smith.

Ben Daniels and Helena Bonham Carter will also be part of the Season 3 cast as Lord Snowdon and Princess Margaret, respectively.

Emerald Fennell Poses

Emerald Fennell is another new addition to the cast as Camilla Parker Bowles.

Netflix has also dropped the first teaser for the third season, and it gives us another look at Colman in her new role.

It starts with one of the palace's lavish rooms, before Queen Elizabeth II, complete with her crown, gives a piercing stare at the camera.

Olivia Colman

Colman is all suited up with her crown and gloves.

If there's one thing we know about The Crown, it's that no expense is spared on the production side of things.

That's why the show is in good hands at Netflix, and Season 4 is even slated to enter production later this year.

Emma Corrin

Of the fourth season, we already know that Emma Corrin has been added to the cast as Lady Diana Spencer aka Princess Diana.

“I have been glued to the show, and to think I’m now joining this incredibly talented acting family is surreal,” Corrin said at the time of her casting.

“Princess Diana was an icon and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring."

"To explore her through Peter Morgan’s writing is the most exceptional opportunity and I will strive to do her justice!”

Gillian Anderson Attends Comic-Con
