The 100 only recently returned for its sixth season on The CW, but the network has already renewed the popular sci-fi drama for a seventh.
There's even more good news:
The 100 Season 7 will span 16 episodes, taking the series to its 100th episode, according to showrunner, Jason Rothenberg.
"16! #the100 #100ofThe100," he shared on Twitter on Wednesday, confirming a rumor that had been doing the rounds on social media.
The episode order is an increase of three episodes as opposed to the previous three seasons.
As such, this increase does not suggest a much earlier premiere at this moment in time.
Getting the series to 100 episodes is a milestone that should be celebrated, but there's a chance that this could mean the upcoming season could be the show's last.
There's something about a show titled The 100 ending on that episode order. Alas, we'll reserve more judgment on the matter until The CW or anyone associated with the show confirms when the show is ending.
For now, we still have multiple episodes of The 100 Season 6 to look forward to!
The new episodes found the characters on a brand new planet and desperately trying not to make the same mistakes after two of their beloved friends made the ultimate sacrifice to give them a fresh start.
The series continues next Tuesday with The 100 Season 6 Episode 6, titled "Memento Mori."
"Diyoza (guest star Ivana Milicevic) learns more about the mysterious Children of Gabriel while Abby (Paige Turco) continues searching for a way to save Kane (guest star Henry Ian Kusick)," reads the official logline for the episode.
