Game of Thrones' Lena Headey Wanted A "Better Death" for Cersei Lannister

Game of Thrones may be over, but thanks to it being one of the biggest TV shows ever, it will continue to be talked about for years.

One of the most polarizing moments of the entire series happened in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 5 -- the penultimate season.

Cersei Lannister and her brother/lover/baby daddy were crushed to death as they attempted to flee King's Landing while Daenerys was going all Dracarys and laying waste to everywhere ins sight.

Game of Thrones Season 8, as a whole, was marred by criticism, most of it stemming from the inconsistent plotting, among other things.

One person who was not impressed when she learned about her character's demise was Cersei actress, Lena Headey.

"I will say I wanted a better death," Headey told The Guardian, before admitting that she had some of her own problems with the final season of the HBO hit.

“Obviously you dream of your death. You could go in any way on that show. So I was kind of gutted."

"But I just think they couldn't have pleased everyone. No matter what they did, I think there was going to be some big comedown from the climb."

Game of Thrones has such a vocal fanbase that not every fan was going to be impressed with the conclusion.

Hell, one person went as far as making a petition to remake the entire final season with competent writers.

"David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on," said petition creator, Dylan D. when he created the petition.

"This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!"

To date, the petition has racked up over 1.6 million signatures, proving that many people are disappointed with the conclusion.

Headey's former co-star, Sophie Turner previously opened up about the petition, calling it "disrespectful."

"All of these petitions and things like that — I think it's disrespectful to the crew, and the writers, and the filmmakers who have worked tirelessly over 10 years, and for 11 months shooting the last season," she said.

"Like 50-something night shoots. So many people worked so, so hard on it, and for people to just rubbish it because it's not what they want to see is just disrespectful."

Game of Thrones Quotes

Thoros: You still mad at us, boy?
Gendry: You sold me to a witch.
Thoros: A priestess. I'll admit, it is a subtle distinction.
Beric: We're fighting a great war. Wars cost money.
Gendry: I wanted to be one of you. I wanted to join the brotherhood, but you sold me off... like a slave. Do you know what she did to me? She strapped me down in the bed. She stripped me naked.
The Hound: Sounds alright so far.
Gendry: And put leeches on me.
The Hound: Was she naked, too?
Thoros: She needed your blood.
Gendry: Yes, thank you. I know that.
The Hound: Could have been worse.
Gendry: She wanted to kill me. They would have killed me if it wasn't for Davos.
The Hound: But they didn't, did they? So what are you whinging about?
Gendry: I'm not whinging.
The Hound: Your lips are moving and you're complaining about something. That's whinging. This one's been killed six times. You don't hear him whinging about it.

Tyrion: Let me give you some advice bastard. Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.
Jon: What the hell do you know about being a bastard?
Tyrion: All dwarfs are bastards in their father's eyes.
