Hulu is bringing Nicole Kidman into its orbit.
The Big Little Lies actress has landed a lead role on the project which is based on Liane Moriarty's novel of the same name.
Big Little Lies executive producer is also attached to the series, which has scored a straight-to-series order.
The series takes place at a health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living.
Watching over them during this ten-day retreat is the resort’s director Masha (played by Kidman), a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine “perfect” strangers have no idea what is about to hit them.
David E. Kelley and John Henry Butterworth are attached to Co-Showrun and to Co-Write.
The good news here is that Kelley wrote all seven, critically acclaimed episodes of Big Little Lies Season 1, so we think it's fair to say this could be another huge success for Kidman to star in.
The novel was a roaring success, spending 13 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list.
Kidman can next be seen on Big Little Lies Season 2 which launches on HBO this summer.
Hulu has also renewed comedies PEN15 and Ramy for second seasons. Both series launched to rave reviews earlier this year, so the renewals are a no-brainer.
All of this Hulu news comes following the streamer's decision to order two new Marvel drama series.
There are live-action iterations of Ghost Rider and Hellstrom in the works for a 2020 launch.
