The Blacklist Season 6 Episode 17 Review: The Third Estate

at .

Ressler just won't stop.

On The Blacklist Season 6 Episode 17, Ressler spent his spare time hunting for information about Katarina Rostova and came up with a doozy.

I can't remember if Ressler actually knows anything about Liz's grandfather or if Liz ever talked to him about Dominic, but the fact that Ressler found the mailbox is huge.

Red Having Fun - The Blacklist Season 6 Episode 17

It's apparently their form of communication, but I'm still confused if that means that Red knows Katarina is alive because if Dom knows, wouldn't Red?

I can't imagine that Dominic would be able to keep something like that secret from Red, but anything is possible.

Kidnapping Children - The Blacklist

It's definitely getting more interesting with the various twists and turns about this entire Who is Red mystery.

I don't even want to speculate anymore. It's much more fun watching it unfold.

From the previews for The Blacklist Season 6 Episode 18 and The Blacklist Season 6 Episode 19 (another two-hour event), we're finally find out the truth -- maybe.

I say maybe because nothing is ever as it seems on this show. There are always layers upon layers, and it's hard to believe Red's true identity will be revealed so soon.

Where's Liz? - The Blacklist Season 6 Episode 17

Dembe made a wise choice telling Liz they needed to come clean to Red about their secret.

Dembe knows that Red is dead serious about finding the traitor, but it was surprising that Dembe was willing to give her up even if she wasn't willing to spill the beans herself.

But it is possible that Dembe will still protect Liz. Will he really tell Red Liz was the one? Or will he concoct a plan to place the blame on someone else.

Red is obviously suspicious of both of them which was clear when he walked in on them while they were talking.

Liz Asks Questions - The Blacklist Season 6 Episode 17

And the fact that Dembe and Red are having problems in their relationship, but it's not just because Dembe doesn't like how Red is handling this traitor business.

There are trust issues happening, and even when Dembe gave Red his word, Red isn't completely sure about Dembe's honesty.

I've lived by blind faith even if I don't like what I see. I don't know if I can do that anymore.

Dembe

It's also interesting that Dembe went to the mosque to basically say his goodbyes. It means he's fully prepared for Red to kill him.

I also have to wonder if perhaps Dembe will tell Liz the truth about Red instead of her getting the information from Ressler.

It would be a bold move on Dembe's part, but perhaps he's planning to skip town and that would be his last hurrah.

Maybe he's planning to tell Red it was him to take the heat off Liz (though that doesn't make complete sense), and has a plan for his escape before Red can get to him?

Ressler Has Info - The Blacklist Season 6 Episode 17

We have to remember that Vontae is still out there and while he's nowhere near the badass that Dembe is (and probably doesn't have the skills), it could be that Red has him in the back of his mind to replace Dembe if things get ugly.

Aram was a badass himself this hour.

Even though the tables were turned on him after he gained brief control of his bad situation, I loved seeing him take decisive action instead of letting fate have it's way.

No Ransom - The Blacklist Season 6 Episode 17

The secrets of the Third Estate are about to be exposed.

Foy's son is going to spill everything he knows to the FBI.

Even though Red found no evidence Anna McMahon was involved with the organization, he knows better.

Red is intrigued by Anna. She's more formidable than he thought -- and she's a redhead which is obviously his type.

I don't understand rich people at all.

You can spill your guts or your brain. I'm good either way.

Red

If someone kidnapped my kid, I'd do everything possible to get him back no matter how much it cost.

Yet, two rich families had no interest in giving in to the kidnapper's ransom demands.

Truce - The Blacklist Season 6 Episode 17

Instead, they expected the FBI to take care of the problem without them having to front any cash.

It's mindblowing.

If you have the cash and you know you're getting it back once the kidnapper's get caught, why not just pay the ransom?

But I guess that's why they're rich, and I'm not.

All we know for sure, Harold, is that Anna McMahon is a more worthy adversary than we thought. A fact which, much to my dismay, I find oddly arousing. Maybe it's the red hair.

Red

It's going to be interesting to see who is all involved in the big conspiracy besides the president and what the reason is why they want to attack their own country.

What are they after, and what do they hope to accomplish?

What do you think?

Will Dembe tell Red the truth about Liz or will he take the fall?

How does Liz find out the truth about Red? Who tells her?

Will it be the real truth or just another layer of mystery?

Did you like Aram's badassness this hour?
