Jon Seda may be bowing out of Chicago P.D., but the actor is showing nothing but gratitude for his time on the NBC hit.

Seda took to social media over the weekend to address his departure, and he paid tribute to his fellow cast members and the fans of the show.

“It’s been an honor portraying Det. Antonio Dawson in the #OneChicago world,” Seda wrote.

“To my cast #Family, I’ll always treasure the time and stories we shared. To all you #chihards out there, THANK YOU for being the best of fans! We’ll Always have CHICAGO.”

Many were taken by surprise by the exit news, which dropped on Friday courtesy of Deadline.

Seda first appeared on Chicago Fire in the role of Antonio Dawson, before becoming an original cast member on Chicago P.D.

He left that show behind to be an original cast member on Chicago Justice, but the show did not perform as well as NBC had hoped.

It was canceled after just one season, with Seda returning to Chicago P.D. shortly after. When the news of his departure dropped, it was revealed that it was a creative decision.

Given that Chicago P.D. Season 6 has a handful of episodes remaining, it's unclear whether Antonio will be getting an exit storyline or if his exit will be explained at the start of Chicago P.D. Season 7.

Seda is not the only key player leaving the One Chicago universe.

Colin Donnell and Norma Kuhling will also be exiting Chicago Med at the close of the current season.

The only One Chicago series that appears to be keeping the cast intact into next season is Chicago Fire.

NBC renewed the trio of dramas in February, citing the strong ratings since airing all three together on Wednesdays.

Chicago PD Quotes

Fear is a funny thing. Some of the time, it brings out the worst in people. But fear also brings out our very best. We certainly saw that today. Their love, loyalty, care, and kindness, their support, generosity, and appreciation. And for a certain few among us, fear brings out something different, their choice to be heroic. To stand steady, to hold onto each other, to find a way to hold onto hope, and to lean on each other like family.

Platt: Hey chuckles.
Halstead: Detective chuckles if you don't mind.
