It's Blue Bloods Friday!!
And we come bearing news that the CBS fans have done it again.
With their continued engagement and support of all things Blue Bloods, the fans who keep watching the long-running CBS procedural always help their favorite shows remain on the air.
CBS announced today that Blue Bloods has been renewed for the 2019-2020 television season.
Even better, Tom Selleck has signed a new deal to return for the show’s 10th year on the network.
What would Blue Bloods be without the guiding hand of Selleck's patriarch?
The top-10 series will celebrate its 200th episode when the show premieres in fall 2019.
“Blue Bloods has been a top-10 drama and Friday’s top-rated show every year it’s been on the air,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment.
“On a night that many have claimed is quiet for broadcast television, its quality writing, superb acting and familial warmth have attracted an average of over 13 million passionate viewers each week for nine years.
"We are delighted that Tom will return and that the show will continue to be a vital component of the CBS schedule next season.”
The series premiered on Sept. 24, 2010, and has always maintained its position on Fridays at 10:00 PM.
Blue Bloods is currently the #8 most-watched show in all of broadcast television.
That isn't a surprise for those of us at TV Fanatic who know the happiness this show brings to our readers.
Blue Bloods is also a digital success and is the most-watched network drama on CBS’ digital platforms, including CBS All Access.
CBS All Access not only quickly provides episodes of shows you may have missed on broadcast, but also original dramas and historical favorites.
On a personal note, before I had CBS All Access, I never knew how much I'd use it. It's one of my favorite streaming platforms.
Tonight on Blue Bloods Season 9 Episode 19, "Common Enemies," Danny's arch-nemesis returns as the show will finally return to Lou Delgado's passing remarks that the death of Danny's wife, Linda, may not have been an accident.
Lou Diamond Phillips guest stars as Delgado, and we expect a tour de force performance from Donnie Wahlberg as Danny deals with the ramifications of Delgado's statement.
How excited are you for the renewal news?
And we fully expect the comments on the next episode to blow up with the focus on Linda!
Make sure you are here later tonight for a full review of the episode.
