The Sinner is changing things up for its third season.
The USA Network anthology has officially been renewed for a third season, and White Collar veteran Matt Bomer is attached to star, reports THR.
Bill Pullman is on tap to reprise the role Harry Ambrose for the third season
The third season of The Sinner follows Detective Harry Ambrose as he begins what appears to be a routine investigation of a deadly car accident in upstate New York.
He eventually “uncovers a hidden crime that pulls him into the most dangerous and disturbing case of his career,” per the official logline.
Bomer is on board to play Jame, a Dorchester resident who is in good graces with the community.
He looks to Ambrose for support following the deadly accident.
The Sinner has been a hit since its debut on USA Network, securing multiple awards nominations.
That being said, The Sinner Season 2 slid almost 50 percent in the demo. It averaged a 0.3 rating but remained as one of the network's top-rated series.
Bomer can currently be seen on DC Universe's Doom Patrol. He voices the role of Negative Man and plays Larry Trainor in flashbacks.
Bomer has also appeared on American Horror Story, The Last Tycoon, and even the Magic Mike franchise.
USA Network has yet to reveal when the third season will air, but given that the first two seasons launched in August, it's likely the new run will have launch then.
