TV Ratings Report: Super Bowl LIII Sinks to 10-Year Low

at .

The ratings are in, and the Super Bowl did not resonate as well as CBS expected.

With a 27.9 rating in the demo and 87.7 million total viewers, the numbers are way down from last year's early ratings of 30.9 rating and 103.4 million viewers.

Granted, these figures are still amazing for any TV event, but the lower than usual ratings could be attributed to the fact that game lacked the excitement the previous years had.

In addition, the Half Time show was panned by people who took issue with the fact that it was random, and felt like it was thrown together.

The final ratings will tell the true tale later today, but there's no way the ratings are going to add enough to be on par with last year.

CBS opted to launch The World's Best out of the game, and the first half managed 26.2 million total viewers and an 8.6 rating.

This came in well below the 27 million viewers and the 9.3 rating This Is Us posted last year when the event aired on NBC.
