Alec Baldwin Show Banished to Saturdays at ABC!

The future is not looking bright for The Alec Baldwin Show.

ABC has pulled the talk show from its Sunday line-up and placed it on a previously unplanned hiatus.

When it returns to the air, it will be banished to Saturdays to finish out the rest of its run. Filling in for the failed series on Sundays will be encores of Shark Tank.

Alec Baldwin Attends Charity

Yes, you read that right. ABC is shunning the series in favor of encores of another series. It just goes to show how much faith the alphabet network has in Baldwin's series.

All of the episodes were recorded prior to the series debut, or we could have been looking at an instant cancellation while production was underway.

The series launched last month to just over 2 million viewers, but last Sunday's episode secured just 1.5 million viewers, making it a likely cancellation.

What's more, it is the first show of the season to be pulled from the schedule. Replacing shows in a quick manner was once the norm in the cutthroat broadcast TV business.

In more recent years, however, networks have been more inclined to giving struggling series a chance to find an audience before making a final decision about them.

Probably not helping The Alec Baldwin Show's case for renewal are reports that the star was arrested on Friday after a heated argument over a parking space near his home.

Baldwin allegedly punched a man during the argument and found himself arrested for misdemeanor assault, according to a stunning report in Variety.

The actor was quick to debunk the claims and took to Twitter with a statement of his own about the reports.

"Normally, I would not comment on something as egregiously misstated as today’s story," he shared, adding:

"However, the assertion that I punched anyone over a parking spot is false. I wanted to go on the record stating as much," he continued.

"I realize that it has become a sport to tag people w as many negative charges and defaming allegations as possible for the purposes of clickbait entertainment."

"Fortunately, no matter how reverberating the echos, it doesn’t make the statements true," Baldwin concluded.

What are your thoughts on this?

Did the show deserve more time to find an audience, or was it a turkey?

ABC Quotes

Aren’t we judged by how we treat people? I don’t mean as doctors. I mean as people. Especially those who don’t have the same advantages that we have. We hire Shaun and we give hope to those people with limitations that those limitations are not what they think they are. That they do have a shot! We hire Shaun and we make this hospital better for it. We hire Shaun and we are better people for it.

Why were you rude to me when we first met then nicer to me the second time we met and now you want to be my friend? Which time was it that you were pretending?
