"I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans," she began in her apology.

"I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste."

Roseanne has been known to take to social media with her strong opinions, and generally feels the ire of the internet as a result.

Sykes is not the only person leaving Roseanne ahead of Season 11.

Whitney Cummings Attends Event

Co-Showrunner Whitney Cummings confirmed she was leaving the comedy series.

"Working on Roseanne was a surreal, incredible experience," Cummings shared on social media earlier this month.

"Due to work commitments and my tour schedule, I'm gonna have to watch the Conners from the sidelines next season."

"It was an honor to work with such an incredibly talented group of actors, writers, and crew. Harvey Levin, you can stop calling my cell phone now."

Roseanne returned to the air in March after a 20-year hiatus and was a monster in the ratings. Roseanne Season 10 averaged 13.5 million viewers and a 3.5 rating among adults 18-49 in live + same day measures.

It emerged as the second-highest rated scripted series of the season, behind only This Is Us.

Roseanne Quotes

Dan: Candyman's home babe.
Roseanne: Oh, my favorite, drugs! What happened to the rest of our candy?
Dan: Funny story. Our insurance don't cover what it use to so I got the drugs for twice the price.

Roseanne: Dan! Dan!
Dan: What? What happened?
Roseanne: I thought you were dead!
Dan: I'm sleeping! Why does everybody always think I'm dead?
Roseanne: You looked happy. I thought maybe you moved on.
