Ghosted & LA to Vegas: Fox Execs Address Fate of Comedy Series

Ghosted and LA to Vegas are still awaiting word on whether they will return during the 2018-2019 season at Fox.

With the network confirming its fall schedule earlier this morning, and also revealing what's on tap for midseason, fans of the two comedy series have been on tenterhooks to find out whether the above shows will be back.

Thankfully, Fox has offered an update on both series, and while they're not yet renewed, they're not canceled either.

“We haven’t made a decision,” said Fox boss Dana Walden during a press call ahead of the network's upfront presentation.

She went on to confirm that Ghosted Season 1 will return to the schedule in July. Paul Lieberstein replaced Kevin Etten as showrunner of the series back in November.

The series is currently averaging 2.9 million viewers and a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49. Those are solid results, but it is inflated due to sports propping the numbers up.

As for midseason entry, LA to Vegas, it is still very much in limbo.

We “wanted to make decision if we have place to allow the show to grow,” Walden said, adding that the potential of Season 2 will be revisited when everyone returns to Los Angeles.

“If we can’t find a way to make noise, we won’t do it,” Walden said.

LA to Vegas is averaging a meager 2.3 million viewers and a 0.7 rating, so the show's future has never been certain. News should come out about the shows in the next few months.

Fox recently felt the ire of the internet for canceling Brooklyn Nine-Nine after five seasons, but NBC swooped in to save the series.

What do you think of the decision to leave both series in limbo?

Do you watch either series? Do they deserve to stick around?
