Lauren Cohan is not leaving The Walking Dead quite yet.
The actress confirmed to Entertainment Weekly she's returning to The Walking Dead Season 9, which is due to begin filming in the coming weeks.
"I’m going back," Cohan confirmed, adding: “There’s a lot more Maggie story to tell.”
Cohan did not go into any specific plot details, but she promises, "It's good."
Lauren's future with the zombie drama has been up in the air over the last few months, and that's because of her involvement in ABC pilot, Whiskey Cavalier.
Her contract was up at the end of The Walking Dead Season 8, but if you watch The Walking Dead online, you will know that her story was far from over.
Maggie was shocked to the core that Rick allowed Negan to live another day and the recent finale seemingly set the stage for a battle between Maggie and Rick.
Maggie wanted Negan to die because of all the characters he took out during his time as the leader of the saviors. Yes, we're still not over the death of Glenn.
There has been no confirmation about whether Cohan is back full-time or in a guest capacity.
It's a possibility that she's waiting to hear about how the Whiskey Cavalier pilot goes down with ABC execs before making a decision.
In any case, this means that fans of the series should get a conclusion to Maggie's storyline, and that's a good thing.
It would have been horrible to have such a significant character exit off-screen. Lauren has been part of The Walking Dead family since Season 2.
