Riverdale Promo: Watch The First Musical Number!

at .  Updated at .

Riverdale is heading to the '70s with their musical-themed episode on Riverdale Season 2 Episode 18. And from the looks of the first few clips, the cast is killing it with their vocals for Carrie: The Musical!

Many of the cast members are already musically-inclined; in fact, we've seen a lot of them perform on Riverdale in the past. Archie, Veronica, Betty, Josie and Cheryl have belted out tunes, but now the entire group has joined in on the fun.

Though, even with song and dance, drama is still afoot in town. Not everyone can be the star. Will tensions rise off-stage?

Power Duos - Riverdale Season 2 Episode 18

Based on the cliffhanger from Riverdale Season 2 Episode 17, Cheryl had snatched the starring role of Carrie White without even an audition. (Seriously, could anyone else play the role?! Cheryl Blossom is the star.)

She was ready to take on the responsibility of playing the lead. But, she did have a few alarming words at the end about getting revenge on the school.

Will she take her starring role seriously or could this be a stunt?

From the looks of the musical number, she seems invested in playing her part. And the promo photos do have her looking dedicated and taking charge of the group. However, we're talking about Cheryl here; she is a bit unpredictable.

Riverdale Season 2 Episode 18 Quotes

Kevin: I have a dark confession to make. After Cheryl’s brush with death this morning, I found a letter in my locker from someone alleging to be, and I can’t believe I’m about to say this, The Black Hood. It’s bad, just look.
[He shows Jughead and the camera the letter]
Kevin: Why would The Black Hood, who was shot dead by my dad, be demanding the role of Carrie be recast?
Jughead: Yeah, it does seem pretty small potatoes for The Black Hood.
Kevin: Still, Jug, you can’t tell anyone about it. As the official documentarian, you’re sworn to secrecy. Also, the show, as they say, must go on.

Kevin: Okay, Veronica, I’m obsessed with everything that just happened.
Veronica: Thank you! It helps to be off-book and in full costume.
Betty: Don’t be so modest, you are the literally embodiment of Chris. Never has a role been perfectly typecast.
Archie: Betty!
Veronica: What was that, Betty?
Betty: I mean think about it: Spoiled rich girl, check. Major daddy issues, check. Bad to the bone, trying to control everyone around her, including her boyfriend and best friend. Check, check, check.
