Ash vs Evil Dead: Canceled at Starz!!

at .

The fun is about to end with El Jefe.

That's right, Starz announced today they will not be moving forward with a fourth season of one of the goriest and funniest series on television featuring Bruce Campbell as Ash "Ashy Slashy" Williams, a continuation to the successful Evil Dead movie franchise.

Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3 will conclude with the finale on April 29.

Evil Ash - Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 Episode 8

From the moment Ash vs Evil Dead Season 1 began, Cambell and his costars Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago, and Dana DeLorenzo have been kicking Evil's ass (and each other's) while they've been covered in gallons of goo and no doubt had the times of their lives.

Campbell and his pal and director, Sam Raimi, had the idea to bring the franchise to television.

It is one of the few horror franchises that made the move from film to television in which the material not only held its own but grew and became even more entertaining.

Kelly, Ruby & Pablo

The love for the franchise by Campbell, Raimi, Rob Tapert, and the stars and everyone involved was recognized in the production value of the series and the seriousness with which they took having so much fun.

“Ash v Evil Dead has taken audiences on a wild ride for three seasons thanks to the fantastic performances and creative efforts of Sam, Bruce, Rob and the entire cast and crew. We are proud to send the show out with a bang…and a splat,” said Carmi Zlotnik, President of Programming for Starz.

The third season found Ruby (Lawless) fully on the other side of the action as without much compassion for the group she sometimes counted as friends.

Ash lost his dad (Lee Majors) once and for all, but not before they both got to meet Ash's long lost daughter, Brandy (Arielle Carver-O'Neill).

A Father/Daughter Moment

As the season began, the team thought they had, once again, conquered evil only to discover it was coming back worse than ever.

Pablo (Santiago) and Kelly (Maxwell) were back in a flash to help Ash and as we ride into the series finale, Kelly's soul hangs in the balance.

Here's how Campbell chose to say goodbye to the franchise he loves.

Something tells me Campbell wouldn't let a season end without them all riding off to Ft. Lauderdale again for another big kegger, so be sure to keep watching.
