Well, this just got interesting.
Ever since the Roswell reboot was confirmed to be in the works at The CW, there has been a whole lot of skepticism about whether a reboot was actually needed.
However, the latest raft of casting announcements for the potential series has sure made us somewhat intrigued to see what the show would look like if it moves past pilot stage.
The first big casting news for the series came just weeks ago when it was revealed that So You Think You Can Dance winner, Jeanine Mason had landed the lead role.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latest big gain for the series is The Vampire Diaries veteran, Michael Trevino, who will take on the role of Kyle Valenti.
He is the son of the town sheriff, and by the sounds of it, he strives for change after realizing his care-free outlook is not serving him well.
This all comes after he learns a shocking truth about his family. Will this soften up the character who sounds a little too tough?
Revenge star, Nick Wechsler played the role on the original series.
Trevino played Tyler Lockwood on fellow CW series, The Vampire Diaries for eight seasons. He even popped up as the character on spin-off series, The Originals.
The official logline for Roswell reads, "After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: he’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life."
"She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance."
Parsons will play the lead role of Max, who is a police officer with abilities.
Roswell is one of nine pilots in the works at The CW this pilot season.
