Charmed Reboot Casts First Love Interest!

The CW has officially ordered a pilot of long-in-the-works Charmed reboot.

That much was confirmed just a few weeks ago when the network added it to its bursting at the seams roster of nine pilots.

According to Deadline, we know which actor has been cast first in the drama series.

Ser'Darius Blain

That star is Ser’Darius Blain, and he will take on the role of Galvin, an aspiring filmmaker who will serve as the boyfriend of Macy aka one of the Charmed Ones.

Blain most recently appeared in Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, and the movie has been dominating the box office since it was released late last year.

The reboot will be penned by Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin, and The CW describes it as follows:

“This fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series centers on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches. Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds, a witch’s work is never done.”

The original series ran on The WB from 1998-2006 and starred Holly Marie Combs, Shannen Doherty, Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan.

Much of the original cast has been less than positive about the reboot inching closer to reality, with Combs blasting the producers for trying to cash in on the brand.

Casting is underway to round out the rest of the cast on the pilot. The good news for the show's prospects is that The CW confirmed earlier today it is expanding to 6 nights of original programming

That means it will broadcast 12 hours of drama series per week as opposed to 10.

The network is likely looking to add a lot of new shows in the hopes of getting another hit.
