Are Lip and Sierra officially a couple?
That appears to be one of the most significant questions after Shameless Season 8 Episode 11 which found them closer together than ever before.
Ruby Modine turned in a killer performance and peeled back the layers on Sierra like never before. It's horrifying that she witnessed her mother being murdered and had to contend with the killer being released from prison.
That's a lot for anyone to go through, and it was clear that her father was a bit of a loose cannon. It showed that Sierra felt safe with Lip that she would reach out to him when the going got tough.
She was in an unimaginable situation, and deep down, she loves Lip. It's obvious. The only reason she went back with Charlie was that she felt she owed it to her son to give his father another chance.
It was only a matter of time before she found herself back with Lip. That said, I want the pair to decide whether they are staying in a relationship quickly because we don't need another drawn-out romance on this show.
I loved Lip baiting Sierra's father into attacking him. It made sense, and without killing him, it was the best way to get rid of him. However, I don't see the man being sent back in the slammer for much longer.
Sierra needs a long-term plan, and that will likely involve her departing the South Side with a new identity to stay well away from her father. She could take Neil with her because it's not like he's been given much to work with throughout Shameless Season 8.
Most of the drama with Fiona's apartment building was hilarious. But I cannot believe she didn't force entry the moment she realized her dog was still in there.
Who barricades themselves in someone else's apartment and steals their dog? The people are horrible, and Fiona is in for a tough time of it if she wants to get her apartment back and win the lawsuit.
It turns out hiring construction workers for a cut-price means they are not going to have the appropriate insurance to stand up in court. Fiona should have known better, and there's a genuine possibility that she's going to lose more than just her building.
This should be a significant learning process for her, and I hope she manages to win the case. It would be horrible to have all the good from her life purged out because of some of the worst people on the planet.
I chuckled a lot when Fiona broke in to steal the dog and kicked the woman taking up residence in there. It's obviously going to come back to bite Fiona, but at least she got a little bit of satisfaction despite the circumstances.
All of the stuff with Debbie was gnarly. It was reminiscent of Shameless Season 4 when Frank needed to break his leg to get a payout from Sheila's insurance.
It was all going to come crashing down for Debbie, and I doubt she's out of the woods yet. Reeling in Liam to help cut off her toes was crazy, but should we have expected anything less with this family?
Then there's Carl and Kassidi. Their relationship is a sham, and Kassidi knows how to manipulate Carl into getting what she wants.
Kassidi needs to go and get her head checked if her idea of a good time is taking selfies with dead bodies and getting embroiled in gang shootouts.
Now that Carl has decided to quit his career aspirations to make Kassidi happy, look for the Gallaghers to orchestrate a plan to get rid of her. There's no way this relationship will continue into Shameless Season 9.
"A Gallagher Pedicure" was a hilarious hour of this Showtime drama series. There were twists, laughs, and some of the craziest moments of the entire series.
Other tidbits from the episode:
- Kev seriously contemplated allowing V to be a prostitute for $4000.
- What's Svetlana's big plan? Will she kill the woman and take the man for herself?
- Frank thinking he could work for a handful of weeks and be entitled to a substantial retirement fund was cute. I'm sure he will get by on $3 a month.
- Can Ian's storyline get any more ridiculous?
