Ever since The Handmaid's Tale Season 1 came to a close earlier this year, viewers have questioned when they can return to the dystopian world of Gilead.
Thankfully, Hulu has confirmed when the series will return for Season 2, and it is still some time away.
It will debut in April with a season “shaped by Offred’s pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the dystopian horrors of Gilead,” says the press release.
“‘Gilead is within you’ is a favorite saying of Aunt Lydia. In Season 2, Offred and all our characters will fight against – or succumb to – this dark truth.”
The Handmaid's Tale Season 1 concluded with Offred being bundled into a van after Nick told her to go quietly, but there was a certain ambiguity to that final scene.
Was Nick sending her somewhere to be safe, or was he going to be sending her somewhere she would find herself in a lot of trouble? Considering Offred was pregnant with Nick's baby, we think it will be the former.
The Handmaid's Tale debuted earlier this year to rave reviews and became an instant hit. It went on to garner five Emmys. Will Season 2 live up to all of the hype?
Meanwhile, The Path Season 3 is slated to bow January 17, 2018, and will air weekly after that.
Limited series, The Looming Tower will debut February 28, while Hard Sun will launch its complete first season on March 7, 2018.
Hulu has been going to extreme measures to expand its scripted offerings, and it looks like it's paying off with a more robust slate of originals.
