Scorpion Season 4 Episode 5 Review: Sci Hard

Inquiring minds want to know if Toby comes up with all of these acronyms himself or if Happy helps out.

On Scorpion Season 4 Episode 5, Quintis has moved on from P.A.N.N.S., and they are all about the S.T.O.R.K., which sadly does not involve watching the adorable animated movie.

The various acronyms adopted by Quintis has been a fun running gag so far this season. It's lightened up the mood, and the constant explanation of the acronyms and the mocking by other Team Scorpion members was a constant source of entertainment.

On top of that, watching Happy and Toby break the sacred rules of the newest acronym is hilarious.

They are both so shock and appalled that the other would do something so despicable. Quintis basically considers the acronym of the moment to be sacred. You shall not mock the acronym.

I'll never be able to get the image of Toby in those tighty whities out of my head, never.

Now, it's hard to pick a favorite acronym because they are all wonderful. However, since it's on point thematically, S.T.O.R.K. is mine.

What's yours? Also, I don't think I've ever used the word, "acronym," in a sentence this many times in my entire life.

Toby: You need to get knocked up, and coffee is a violation of S.T.O.R.K.
Cabe: [groans] I don't want to know.
Toby: Oh, I'm glad you asked. Happy and I have conceived a conception plan, and it's called S.T.O.R.K. S is for sexy time, only at moments of optimal fertility.
Cabe: I'm not interested in your sexy time!

The case is absolutely amazing and laugh out loud funny. Seriously, the bank robbery coupled with Toby's S.T.O.R.K. violations had me in stitches.

This is where Scorpion excels. Wacky cases featuring strange solutions, like a bank robbery and Cabe posing as an online butler named Barnaby, are what makes the show so lovable.

Not only is Team Scorpion unique, but Scorpion is different from every other procedural out there because of its heart and its ability to embrace being a bit silly. Everyone needs a good dose of silliness in their lives. Don't you agree?

Toby: Are you sure about this?
Happy: No, but we need the password, and this is the fastest way to get it. Now, let's go.
Toby: Just read the note one more time.
Happy: [reading note] This is a robbery. Give us your server password, and no one gets hurt.
Toby: It's direct and clear. That's a good note.

One of the best parts of the case setup itself is that the team was separated for the entire case.

Walter and Paige were cut off from everybody, and they had to think on their feet and trust their team. Walter couldn't run the show or come up with the final ingenious solution that saves the day, which happens quite a bit when you think about it.

The case showcased how well Team Scorpion works as a team.

Walter was constantly talking about how Cabe could handle himself and that his team was on it. He didn't know that. He had faith in them, and the rest of the team came through.

Cabe also got to show off how much of a badass he is. With his demotion to junior intern, Cabe really needed a moment to kick some ass and also take a nap in that quiet tank. I need one of those pods, badly.

All the side characters were great additions to the case as well.

Richard Elia is always a delight. He's got a bit of a history with Team Scorpion, so he can quickly jump into the team dynamics and comment on the insanity going on. He also doesn't take over the case.

Richard doesn't play a huge role, and he doesn't need to. Seeing him is a reminder of how far the team has come, and how Walter fired Paige for a bit (awkward).

The scorned, explosive diarrhea guy (sorry dude, don't remember your name) was actually fun to watch. He could have easily been annoying, but he was a great foil for Walter.

He made Walter praise Scorpion and step up and show that he doesn't need to be a member of a fancy genius club to be a badass.

It was also nice that the explosive diarrhea guy liked Paige but didn't turn into a blubbering idiot or a guy who constantly hit on her whenever she was near. Admittedly, I was worried for a bit.

Then, there's Sly's proctor.

First off, there's a reason why you don't have your phone on during exams, Sylvester. It's so you don't get kicked out for cheating!

Walter: It's morse code. It's Happy.
Richard Elia: How do you know?
Walter: Because the doorbell just said, "it's me, stupid."

Usually, when your phone makes a noise, you're out. It doesn't matter what the reason is or if you were even using it. Your phone going off means automatic dismissal. I'm having AP test flashbacks right now...

The proctor ended up being a really cool guy. He was in awe of Sly and Team Scorpion, and his commentary ended up being amusing, not annoying.

What did you think of the episode? My favorite moment was definitely the Quintis bank robbery and getaway. What was yours? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
