Brooke Shields is returning to NBC.
The esteemed actress has snagged a recurring role on Law & Order: SVU Season 19 and her character is set to “shake up Benson’s world.”
That's all NBC has revealed about the casting because they want fans to tune in to find out more about the show's new characters.
Brooke Shields herself, however, has revealed that the character is not like one she's played before.
“I play a very different character from any I have ever played,” Shields said via statement.
“I’m excited to stir the SVU pot a bit.”
Stirring the pot keeps drama series relevant, so we're all for this cast addition.
52-year-old Shields previously starred in Lipstick Jungle in a series regular role on NBC.
The show did not last long due to sagging ratings, but it was up there as one of the frothiest dramas on television.
Her other TV credits include Scream Queens, Army Wives and When Calls The Heart.
Very little is known about the upcoming season of the crime drama. Producers are keeping tight-lipped about it.
We do know that Philip Winchester is boarding the series in a recurring capacity as his character from Chicago Justice.
Justice was canceled earlier this year after a moderately rated freshman run.
NBC cited the lack of space on the schedule as a primary reason for the show's demise.
