The Flash Season 3 Episode 20 Review: I Know Who You Are

at .

Barry pieced together the clues to Savitar's identity on The Flash Season 3 Episode 20 "I Know Who You Are."

And, as Killer Frost declared, the two were more alike than the speedster thought.

Because Barry Allen, a future version of him, is Savitar!

Please Help - The Flash Season 3 Episode 20

I loved everything about this reveal. Especially the part where it hit Barry like a ton of bricks that the answer was right there all along.

Including, my favorite clue when Savitar spoke through Julian and proclaimed himself "The Future Flash" on The Flash Season 3 Episode 9. He came right out and said it, but everyone interpreted it as "The future, Flash" as if he was addressing Barry.

Comma placement is everything, people. #Grammar

Surveying the Scene - The Flash Season 3 Episode 20

Big reveals like this one or the man in the iron mask during The Flash Season 2 tend to be hit or miss.

We see it coming from a mile away or it seems like the answer was chosen purposely to throw people off rather than for the story to make sense.

In this case, The Flash Season 3 has dropped several hints. Some more obvious than others like Killer Frost driving the point home to Barry in the middle of their fight.

Tracy: What happens if I don't build the trap?
Joe: [looking at Iris] Someone very important to us is going to die.

But the one thing we don't know is why a future Barry wants to kill Iris.

Is he one of the time remnants Future Barry mentioned on The Flash Season 3 Episode 19? He did say Savitar killed most of them, but not all. Or is he connected to Flashpoint?

Either way, there doesn't seem to be a clear reason for him to target Iris. Other than wanting to cause Barry pain. Or cause himself pain?

Okay, who else has a headache from thinking too hard about how many versions of Barry there are?

Killer Frost Targets Tracy - The Flash Season 3 Episode 20

The reveal makes it a lot easier to understand why Killer Frost was so quick to jump onboard Savitar's team.

Her one and only mission is survival without Caitlin Snow. Of course she'd want to join an evil version of Barry. Who better than to outsmart Team Flash?

Except, as Savitar pointed out, Caitlin might not be as far gone as Killer Frost wants to believe. As of now, she hasn't killed anyone.

Maybe there's more Caitlin Snow in you than you've led me to believe.

Savitar

She did, however, pull off some wicked moves with her ice tricks.

The Flash does an amazing job with special effects in general. They managed to outdo themselves as Killer Frost took to the skies with her ice slides. Watching Barry speed along beside her made it even more fun.

Newly developed talents aside, I do hope Julian can find a way to help Caitlin. Not cure her. Because we always need another female hero with badass powers.

Caitlin should have the freedom to control her powers for Team Flash just as Barry, Cisco, Wally, etc. can.

Ready to Vibe - The Flash Season 3 Episode 20

Speaking of Cisco, being wonderful is basically his job description. But he still manages to find new levels all the time.

It hurt watching him fear his powers. He didn't see a potential killer. He saw his best friend. And he didn't want to risk hurting her, even if it meant standing by and letting her escape.

Julian being the one to encourage Cisco was a welcome surprise. Always a bit on the gruff side, Julian has a way of offending more than helping.

But he's grown so much since he joined Team Flash. And not only because of his feelings for Caitlin. He understood what Cisco needed, and he helped him.

Cisco: It's over, Caitlin.
Killer Frost: Caitlin is dead.
Cisco: Not to me.

H.R.'s another team newbie who continues to come into his own. And now he's got his eye on the latest potential addition to Team Flash.

So far, I like Tracy. She's smart, quirky, and a little over the top. Clearly, she'll fit right in at STAR Labs. She and H.R. have a nice, easy chemistry.

Let's hope she survives Savitar and Killer Frost's attempts on her life.

Cecile's in Trouble! - The Flash Season 3 Episode 20

While we're adding people to Team Flash, we can count Cecile in as a member of the secret club.

It used to bug me that the superheroes revealed their secrets to everyone and anyone. But at this point, it's part of the charm. And it's better than making up silly lies or knocking people out.

Plus, Joe is happy and in love. And no one deserves happiness more than Joe West.

Joe, there's no such thing as normal. Love is the only thing that makes the fight worth it. And it's the only thing that's going to get us through it.

Barry

Well, maybe Iris West.

Is anyone else tired of watching Iris linger in the background while every other character's story goes on around her?

It's great that the team is doing everything they can to save her life. I want them to succeed. But why can't Iris have a story, too? Let her work on clues. Let her report a story.

Let her have more than a sentence or two of dialogue.

Tell us what you thought of "I Know Who You Are!"

When did you know Barry was Savitar? Do you have a favorite clue? Why does he want to kill Iris? Can Julian save Caitlin? Are you happy for Joe? Doesn't Iris deserve more to do?

Remember, you can watch The Flash online anytime.
