The drama continues to hit crazy new heights on this ABC political thriller.
Scandal Season 6 Episode 13 found Rowan making a shock deal with Fitz to end Peus and his reign of terror.
Below, TV Fanatics Jasmine Blu, Sarah Hearon, and Christine Hinton discuss the shocking alliance, David going after Samantha and their thoughts on Olitz.
What did you think of Rowan joining forces with Fitz?
Jasmine: I thought it was amazing. I'm always a sucker for sworn enemies joining forces against a common enemy. It was the highlight of the episode when it was revealed that they were, in fact, working together.
Sarah: I wasn't that surprised when it was revealed that Papa Pope was working with Fitz, but I did enjoy it! I agree with Jasmine that it is fun to see enemies join forces.
Christine: Heck, I was happy when Fitz came down with the bottle, and the two of them shared a drink. Having them actually join forces to take down Peus and Samantha was the icing on the cake.
React to the scene between David and Samantha.
Jasmine: There was a time when I used to like and feel badly for David, but he irks me now. Of course, he nearly ruined everything over a twitch. That's such a Rosen thing to do. I would say he's playing checkers while everyone is playing chess, but most of the time it isn't even on the board. Him trying to hold his own against Ponytail was laughable.
Sarah: Getting Samantha on board with their plan was going way too well, so I knew something had to happen to mess it up. It doesn't bother me that David was the one to ruin things, and I thought the twitch was an interesting plot twist.
Christine: I’ve actually always liked David. On a show where everyone seems indomitable, he’s the flawed, normal, human. He may have involuntarily given away their plan, but I doubted Samantha was going to sign anyway, Like Sarah said, it was going far too easily. However, I did like that he held his head high even if she did call his bluff.
Could one of the main characters be working with the villains who are likely to emerge next week?
Jasmine: I can definitely see that being the case. Especially with all the little twists and turns this season. I feel like it has to tie in somehow to what has already been happening and in order to do that, there has to be a connection to one of the current players.
Sarah: Potentially! I think there is definitely a motive and a connection missing right now, and before the season wraps up, I would like to see a main character tied in.
Christine: I don’t know if I can take it if another character is connected to these villains. The Abby twist was enough for me!
Are you liking the fact that even though Olitz are together, the show is not focusing on it as much as it once did?
Jasmine: I do! I burnt out when it came to all the romantic entanglements on this show. I like aspects of both ships so I'm not a die-hard shipper for one over the other, but I much prefer Olitz clearly being a thing, but it calling to the background.
Sarah: I'm kind of nervous that we're going down the Olitz road again, but so far their relationship has been fun to watch again.
Christine: I was never a huge fan, but I wouldn’t mind finally seeing them happy and working together. I just don't want to have to witness more break up drama. Actually, the one couple I’ve always hoped would get back together is Abby and David. And is there any possibility that Jake could find love?
What are your thoughts on Luna's first official speech?
Jasmine: I like Luna. I liked the speech. It once again makes me want to learn more about her. I barely paid her any attention before. Now, she's in the spotlight, and I want to dig deeper into her character.
Sarah: I'm excited to see Luna and Mellie work together, and I think her first speech is a sign that she is going to be a great character.
Christine: We really don’t know Luna, so I’m not sure what I think of her, but she seems formidable. I like the idea of her and Mellie working together, so I am excited about that.
