Scandal went the unpredictable route Thursday night and took a series regular out of the equation in shocking fashion, but did it result in higher ratings?

ABC: An encore of an iconic episode of Scandal (3.3 million/0.6 rating) opened the night, while the regularly scheduled episode (5.1 million/1.3 rating) eased off one-tenth.

The Catch (3 million/0.6 rating) hit a new low, fueling concerns that the Shondaland drama will not make the cut for Season 3.

NBC: Superstore (3.2 million/0.9 rating) picked up a tenth, while Powerless (2.1 million/0.6 rating) remained a bust. The Blacklist (4.9 million/0.9 rating) returned in line with how it ended a few months back.

Fox: Masterchef (3.5 million/1.0 rating) and Kicking & Screaming (1.9 million/0.6 rating) each added a tenth.

CBS: Two hours of The Amazing Race (4.1 million/0.8 rating) aired out of encores of The Big Bang Theory (8.4 million/1.3 rating) and The Great Indoors (5.6 million/1.0 rating).

The CW: Fight for the Crown (0.4 million/0.2 rating) aired out of an encore of Supernatural (0.9 million/0.2 rating).
