Burt is prepared for just about everything.
On From Dusk Till Dawn Season 3 Episode 7, Burt just happened to have a pen capable of holding Amaru and all the required equipment for an exorcism. You can find just about anything in a gas station nowadays.
The exorcism storyline was bound to happen sometime. The super creepy horror movie vibes that came with it were expected, but what wasn't were the conversations between Seth and Amaru/Kate. Those came out of nowhere just to sucker punch you in the gut.
Okay, deep breaths everyone. It's time to discuss Seth and Kate (and Amaru).
I honestly do not know what was worse/better - Seth talking to Kate or Amaru.
One thing I love about Amaru is that she has figured out that Kate is a powerful weapon to use, especially against Seth. She will use Kate's memories and her emotions in order to shake up Seth.
Kate not forgiving Seth is amazing. Yes, it's super painful, and it makes you want to bury yourself in blankets, but it's also so, so good.
Kate died angry. She died pissed off at her brother and the Geckos for being worthless and not realizing that Kate gave them everything. Kate loved all of them, and her death was all she had to show for it. I mean Seth didn't even buy her a toaster.
If Kate all of a sudden forgave everyone, it would not make sense. It's not like her life got better after she died - SHE'S POSSESSED! She has to watch Amaru kill innocent people and torment the ones Kate loves.
Amaru: What about you, Seth? Do you think saving a little girl will make you better than your brother?
Seth: It makes me better than you.
Amaru: No! It allows you to convince yourself you're not the monster that you truly are. It allows you to lie to yourself. You feel all that hate around you? That's not me. That's her. She blames you for everything that happened to her. Do you feel it?
Honestly, I'd be pissed off too.
Here's hoping there's fallout from this conversation between Seth and Kate because we still haven't seen any indication that the one on From Dusk Till Dawn Season 3 Episode 4 even happened.
I'm still not sure how Kate was back for a bit. It's almost as if the exorcism worked temporarily, which is better than nothing I suppose.
I thought they were an all or nothing kind of deal, so Kate being back for maybe five minutes and then being forced back inside doesn't make sense. I am very happy that it happened, but I need an explanation.
I'm just not up to date on my exorcisms. I know, I know, shame on me.
One of the more interesting developments of this hour is that Richie can tune into the Xibalban frequency, as he put it.
This not only gives Richie and the team a slight edge in their fight against Amaru, but it also gives us some insight. I'm not sure if Xibalbans communicate telepathically or what is going on with Richie's new skill.
We've seen Amaru look through the eyes of her Olmeca back during From Dusk Till Dawn Season 3 Episode 2, but it's unclear if that is a Xibalban thing or just a skill Amaru has.
I'm definitely intrigued, and I hope that it is explored more. Can Richie tap into it without feeling the urge to let his shadow self take over again?
Put that tall one on!Burt
People do grieve in a variety of ways, but it would have been so much better if sleeping with a stranger wasn't the way Freddie grieved. While I did love Ximena and Freddie, they slept together too soon for my tastes. I was under the impression he still loved his wife and wanted to be with her.
The small bright side is that Freddie slept with La Llorona, so their tryst tied into the Xibalban of the week. What are your Freddie thoughts?
Seth: So I guess you're going to have to leave that body then.
Amaru: You mean like you left her on the side of the road?
What did you think of the episode? Any theories as to what Amaru will do with Billie and Margaret? Leave your thoughts in a comment below!
