Sandra Oh is one of the Grey's Anatomy stars we've wanted to return for quite some time.
Oh departed the ABC hit in 2014 and us Grey's Anatomy fanatics have been clamoring for more of her character ever since.
With the news that Grey's Anatomy continued to reel in solid ratings for the network, the show has a bright future ahead.
Through one episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 13, the medical drama ranks as the number one show on the ABC.
That's an amazing accomplishment when you consider how long the show has been on the air.
Will Sandra Oh book a return visit as Cristina Yang?
We have no idea.
Maybe Oh thinks 10 years was a long enough time to spend with the character.
Sometimes, actors stay with roles for so long that it becomes a cumbersome affair and seek out new challenges.
She recently starred as Kathy in Refinery 29's Shitty Boyfriends.
It would be great to see her return at least in the series finale, but there's really no indication that Meredith and company will be giving up their scrubs any time soon.
We're quite alright with that.
As long as the quality remains consistent, why not continue?
It's somewhat encouraging that Sandra has booked a role in another ABC show.
She will recur in the upcoming third season of American Crime.
The show is an anthology series, with a new setting and characters every year.
Sandra will portray Abby Tanaka, a social worker who has dedicated her life to helping domestic abuse victims.
The third season will be set in North Carolina and will focus on labor issues, economic divides and individual rights.
The series can't quite compete in the ratings, but critical acclaim and awards love will keep the show running for years to come.
Maybe if Sandra enjoys her return to ABC, she will snap up the opportunity of returning to the show show that made her a household name.
