Supergirl Season 1 Episode 12 Review: Bizzaro

at .  Updated at .

Kara came face to face with her evil twin on Supergirl Season 1 Episode 12, but the imposter actually wasn't all that evil.

Instead, Maxwell Lord's creation was conditioned against Supergirl, but conditioning can be undone.

Lord is becoming an increasingly bigger threat, and I do not expect that cell to hold him for long.

It really is a "bizzaro" world when Cat is the one bringing Kara coffee. It was a little unnerving seeing how nice she was being to Kara, almost like she was the one with an imposter.

It is probably a good thing it didn't last, but I was sad to see Adam go so soon. I was hoping he'd stick around a little longer. Kara's in a interesting situation. She likes one guy, but he can't know her identity, which basically dooms them. She has a best friend who knows who she is and has feelings for her, but she doesn't feel the same.

And, then there's James.

James knows her identity, clearly has feelings for her, and she obviously feels the same way. Yet, he's still dating Lucy, who we never see and do not care about at all. But, we also know it's too soon for the writers to go there, no matter how silly or frustrating this becomes.

James: How do you feel about drowning our sorrows?
Winn: I know what my sorrows are, what sorrows exactly do you have sir?

I'm glad Winn is coming around and starting to accept his friend-zoned situation. I'm also loving the bonding moments between him and James. We saw James give Winn the advice to go for it, and now it was Winn's turn to return the favor.

The question is, will James listen? It didn't go so well for Winn, but as Winn said, James still has a shot.

The scenes between Alex and Lord are becoming some of the best of the series. There is a fine line between love and hate, and it is making the chemistry between them ignite.

He really gets under her skin, and she needs to find a way to control her anger before he gets the best of her. I don't blame her for protecting her family, but she needs to keep her good judgment intact.

Hank: You're compromising the security of this entire operation.
Alex: And he is compromising the security of my family. Guess which one I care about more?

It didn't take long for the Danvers sisters to figure out Lord was surveilling them and knows their secret. I actually expected him to hold onto that a little longer, but I guess he just couldn't help himself. With him in the DEO, this would be a good time for Hank to use his powers. At least read his mind and find out what he's planning.

He basically threatened Eliza, we know that won't be good.

Bizzaro was an interesting villain in that she wasn't really a villain at all. It was all Lord, and this poor Jane Doe had no control over what happened to her. She was like Kara in almost every way, except that kryptonite actually made her stronger.

Was anyone else expecting Alex's anti-kryptonite dart to accidentally hit Kara and make her stronger too?

All right, someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think this was the first time Kara was inside the DEO without her costume, right? I kind of assumed only Hank and Alex knew her real identity, and I was a little surprised to see her waltzing around the DEO as Kara, not to mention there were other agents involved in Alex's rescue mission.

Let's hope they're all extremely trustworthy, because the last thing anyone needs is for General Lane to find out the truth.

Also, I have to ask, what is the point of James' watch if she can hear him from pretty much anywhere? I mean, maybe if he's out of the city it would come in handy, but watching him struggle to reach it when all he had to do was yell really loud was kind of weird.

We were left with a cliffhanger, and we will have to tune into Supergirl Season 1 Episode 13 to see what that thing was. From the promos we know it is a parasite that puts Kara in some sort of dream world, but we don't know where it came from or who is behind it. I'm guessing Astra may have something to do with it.

Supergirl Season 1 Episode 12 Quotes

Alex: I sent a team to scan the area. No signs of extra-terrestrial activity so we can probably rule out an alien shape-shifter, unless there's something you're not telling us.
Hank: The skirt was surprisingly comfortable, but no.

She's as strong as me, she flies like me, she fights like me. Except for the fact that she talks like Cookie Monster, she's exactly like me.
